King Alfred Developments are go!
Wow, I could be living near these developments, in Hove, if they get past one last barrier.
I love the crumpled metal look and its a huge improvement from the 60’s swimming pool thats there now. You can check out the Karis website here. Oh and Brad Pitt will be designing the penthouse restaurant.
Afternoon Mr King. I have to say that I am a huge Frank Gehry fan and was a bit miffed at the local reaction to the plans and was huffing and puffing about how morons should never be allowed to make decisions. So are you saying that you prefer Wilkinson Eyre’s designs? I think they’re both interesting. Unfortunatly the finished buildings don’t always look like the plans so it might not end up as crumpled as it looks in the pictures.
Oh, and they put the red dot in the wrong place in picture 1 on that link. It should be much further down.

well i think it’s awful, should never have been allowed, bet there will be a burger king there and a starbucks..no local market traders nada nada bollocks. j
These buildings will put Brighton on the map. They are not to everyone’s tastes (though they are mine) but they’re exciting, different and suited to Brighton’s reasonably new bohemian culture.
well, it depends if you want to look at the sea from your house or at someone elses house..
Julian, those houses north of the seafront road have had that view for years. Surely its time they gave it to the younger, more affluent people to enjoy. ;)
Anyway, can’t be any worse than the current eyesore.

I love the building but I don’t think that it is the right site for it. Why put such a tall building so close to the sea? There goes our view!
Yeah, but you can get a view of the sea all along the coast. Next to the sea is the best place to put it.
