Mobile Phone Update

Posted on August 5th, 2005 at 2:06 pm

Well I’m still thinking of using the 3 network. The 3 coverage checker says I’ll be okay in Brighton and if I dont like the phone I have 14 days to take it back for a full refund.

After looking at some more phones and packages I’ve taken a fancy to the Nokia 6630.

I can get a 12 month contract for £10 a month from Carphone Warehouse . It also does mp3s and takes better pictures.

New Update: I’ve been into the Carphone Warehouse in town and they can’t get even close to the deals that their online store can give me. So for future reference I will be ordering online.

Even Newer Update: I’ve ordered this phone from Carphone Warehouse and it’ll turn up on Monday. I’ve been reading about it and all the software I can download for it. The main test will be the reception. If there’s no reception around town then I have 7 days to send it back. I suppose I’ll have to wait and see.

…this phone is recommended by a guy here who has been using it. So I speak for him, not me :|

Great Bluetooth connectivity, great software (it’s recently been updated) and it goes for ever. Onl yproblem is it’s form factor – it’s a tad girly!

Cheers Steve, I think that might be the one I go for. Just remembered that my current Pay As You Go has £40 worth of credit on it so I’m gonna have to wait a month before buying it. Thanks for the info.

Oh, and I kinda like its form factor ;)

It looks quite good but it’s a bit too bulky, especially if you are wearing jeans and want to slip it into your pocket. Think there are better phones out there.

I just picked up the new Sony K750i – 2mp camera, rds radio and takes a memory stick (albeit a Sony one) for MP3. Def. the best phone (for it’s size) I’ve used for a long time.

Yeah, nice phone. It gets 5/5 here:

I’m just downloading a Commodore 64 emulator for mine.

Marc, I had a play with that phone last night as JP has just got one. Very nice indeed! Its the best phone out there.

But mine is £10 a month. This 3G stuff aint all that much cop either, its just wap with a few pictures and 50 times as expensive.
