New London to Brighton train speed record.

Well I’m not sure if this is good or bad news for me but last week a train took just 37 minutes to go from London to Brighton.

    There need to be more lines between London and Brighton so that the fast trains mustn’t wait for the slow (stopping) ones. It seems so obvious…

    Yeah, and part of the problem with that are the number of tunnels and bridges that would have to be widened on the route. There’s no easy solution is there.

    Interesting one that. My old house in Burgess hill backs onto the mainline railway, with sufficient width either side of the tracks for two more lines. The big problem is the tunnel through the South Downs. Not much chance of seeing more tracks there!
