I hate Parcel Force!

Posted on November 8th, 2005 at 10:59 am

Their website is still saying their expected delivery date of my parcel is yesterday, the 7th of November.

There is also no way to talk to a representative on the phone, it’s 100% automated.

Half an hour after sending them an eMail they reply by telling me about what part of their website I need to use to answer my query. Sorry, I didn’t see the “Can you please tell me where my f***ing parcel is!!” button.

Whenever I get a parcel delivered by CityLink I’m always amazed at their efficiency. So looks like I have to wait inside all day today too.

  • i ended up driving to Fuc*king to Crawley at midnight once to pick up a parcel they couldn’t manage to deliver, when i got to Crawley the guy said ‘”your going to kill me , it’s not here , i thought it was, can you come back tommorow” ..

  • Gavin Ayling says:

And the depot in Crawley’s not even south Crawley! It wouldn’t be funny if I didn’t drive…

Other page is still saying it will be delivered on the 7th. No sign so far today – another wasted day!!

  • KingOfMyCastle says:

Still no parcel. But its ‘Out for delivery’ again today! Will it be another wasted day indoors?

Parcel Force have not replied so I’ve eMailed Dabs.com, the suppliers telling them that due to Parcel Force I may not be using them again.

I’ve stopped using Dabs – they’re just a little worse at providing better prices and customer service – ebuyer and play get my business mostly now…

  • KingOfMyCastle says:

Dabs used to be the business. I last used them over two years ago and they were brilliant. But I may not use them again.

Had a look at the item I’m waiting for – Plextor PX-716A – and its over a tenner more expensive at eBuyer so it couldn’t compete with price. But I’d pay the extra tenner if it turned up on time.

  • KingOfMyCastle says:

It’s arrived!! I can finally leave the house, after I burn some new DVDs of course.

Just for the record it arrived at 14:35 – Wednesday 9th.

  • i suggest having a good ole wazz over it!

Hint for future parcelforce issues if you have any. The service we use is automated but voice activated. If you say nothing when asked then they put you through to a real person. The number I use is 08708 501150. I do this a lot at work and they have rightly earned the title Parcelfarce.

  • snedger says:

    Hello
Just googled here on “parcelforce gatwick depot”.
My parcel has been out for delivery 3 times, which is more than I get out, no knock on the door and no card. Getting worried, so phoned and the guy gave me the Romford depot number! A nice guy at Romford is trying to get me the Gatwick direct number, but he was going to call back in 2 minutes about half and hour ago.
The parcels been out 3 times, but according to the Parcelfarce person not once has the system been updated to say what happened. Main reason I’m worried is that he parcel is a rather fragile Opteron CPU and I do not want that bouncing around day after day in some delivery van.
You could do what Julian suggested, but I would recommend using cleaning fluids specifically designed for the purpose.
Citilink are good, but I live near Brighton and it’s a long way to go all the way to Crawley to pick up. At least in the end with Parcelfarce if they actually stick a card through your door, you can nominate a Post Office to go to pick up.
    Cheers

I was informed that I needed to pay VAT on a a parcel held for me at Gatwick by Parcel Force. I called their number (shown on the card 0870 0844 525 ) – the first time 6/12/2005 for 30 minutes – No response , apart from an annoying repeating message telling me there would be someone with me shortly. Again on the 7/12/2005 – I called for 40 minutes – same result. I then called customer services who assured me that someone would call me back – No response. I called again on 8/12/2005 and 9/12/2005 for 35 and 45 minutes respectively —- and guess what – still no response apart from the same annoying pre-recorded message. Thanks to this site I have now called the manaing directors office – about time Wtachdog and other consumer groups are broght to bear on this bunch of cowboys.

Parcel Force/Amazon have now officially ruined xmas. Parcel Force is shite and I love the fact that you are the first hit on any serach for them, I found their number using your blog, not through any of the offical links which aim to obscure any real information getting out. I will boycott Amazon and Parcel force from now on and just use my local…what is it called again…yes thats it shop!

One silver lining in all this is that I found your blog, as a brighton-based self confessed geek, how could I fail to like it?

  • KingOfMyCastle says:

Hi Matt, hope you stay around for an occasional look at the site!

And just to repeat. If you want to contact the Gatwick depot of Parcel Force then use this number: 08708 501150

  • KingOfMyCastle says:

Oh and the Managing Director is on: 01908 687249 (thanks Peter).

  • Simon Turner says:

I guess if you are reading this you have already experienced the apalling ParcelForce service. If you haven’t but are thinking of using them, save yourself a lot of time a use another company, any other company.
The first time I had the misfortune to be sent a parcel by this bunch of total incompetants it disappeerad for over two weeks (was supposed to be max 2 day delivery). I spent hours trying to track it down and eventually gave up and persuaded the sender to claim on insurance. Just after we claimed it turned up… very battered. I estimate it cost me over £250 in my time, not to mention the cost of waiting on hold on ParcelForce’s national call rate numbers.

This time I have been sent a parcel form Australia. The parcel again disappeared. Delivery was supposed to be within 7 to 10 working days. 20 working days later it had not turned up. Australia Post Office just said keep waiting (maybe they know all about the useless ParcelForce?). On the 21st day I received a letter from ParcelForce stating that the parcel had been held at Parcelforce’s Gatwick depot and that I had to pay about £50 VAT and a handling charge of £8 to be able to receive it.l The letter supplied a phone number enabling me to pay the charge over the phone. When rung a recorded mesasage stated that the service was no longer available and immediately cut me off. Trying ParcelForce’s main number left me on hold for over an hour… until I gave up. As I was going to be driving past Gatwick in a couple od days time I decided to drop in on the depot and collect it. Unfortunately the letter gave the Gatwick depot postal address but ommitted the postcode (sic!), so I went to the web site and got the postcode. I also printed out the map and directions to the Gatwick office from the PF site. Unfortunately the directions were unintelligable as they said stuff like “Turn right onto the”, neatly omitting the name or number of the road, in all cases! Brilliant (but by now I was beginning to expect this level of ineptitude)! I used their postcode in Multimap instead and printed out the resulting map.
Unfortunately the ParcelForce web site has the wrong post code for the Gatwick depot and I ended up at a Best Western Hotel instead. However, the Hotel had a good, detailed map of the Gatwick/Crawley area and with help I located the road the depot was on and set off… to find it closed! I had been suspicious that it might be closed (so close after Christmas) but the hopeless PF web site did not list the Christmas period opening hours for the Gatwick depot so I had taken pot luck.
I gave up and went to back home. Next day I managed to get through to the main ParcelForce number (after a mere twenty five minutes) and they gave me the number of the Gatwick depot. I have now been on hold for over an hour and three quarters at a National Rate number charge.

PARCELFORCE ARE ENTIRELY INCOMPETANT. I WOULD NOT TRUST THEM TO TIE MY SHOELACES. USE THEM AT YOUR OWN PERIL.

  • Simon Turner says:

Just in case anyone wants to ring the Gatwick depot to experience the very great pleasure of being held on hold for huge periods (now 2 hours 10 minutes) the number is: 08700 844525.

BTW. If you ring ythe “Managing Directors” number above (01908 687249) you just get through to a bunch of trained monkeys…

  • andy hudson says:

I have a parcel waiting at the gatwick depot from the US and I need to pay a customs charge (I knew I would anyhow). Tried ringing 08700 844525 but after 20 mins and googling this site I’ve hung up.

Does anyone have a direct number for the Gatwick Depot yet?

  • andy hudson says:

Ok, just rung 01908687249 and spoke to Pat (woman) who answerded “Managing Directors Office”. She said the only number she had for the Gatwick Depot is 08700844525 but sent a message (prob an email) with all my details (tracking number, outstanding payment price, my name/contact number and said they should call me to make the payment.

    watch this space…

    Andy

  • Andy Hudson says:

Ok, Just tried ringing them again this morning (Sat 31st Dec 2005) and again, no answer after 30 minutes.

I’ve logged a complaint on parcelforce’s site and this is what I put: –

    ———-

I had a parcel arrive from the USA in the last few days and a custom’s charge is required on it. It is at the moment store at Parcelforce Gatwick depot. I’ve received a letter asking me to pay the customs charge which is absolutely fine. My gripe is that it is IMPOSSIBLE to get through to the Gatwick Depot on 08700844525. I know people (I’ll explain shortly) who have been on the phone for hours and not getting anywhere.

Thanks to Google I rang this number – 01908687249 which is the Managing Directors office of ParcelForce and spoke to a woman called Pat. She said the only number she had for Gatwick was 08700844525. I find this hard to believe and there must be a local number you can call them on. She then offered (and I appreciate this) to pass on my details in a message – which I assume is an email – to the Gatwick Depot with all my details and Reference for my parcel (which is EC**********GB)

I suggest you look at this site – https://www.kingofmycastle.com/?p=130

You will see that you have a major problem with your Gatwick depot and there are some very unhappy people spending hours on a phone with a woman saying your call will be answered shortly when in fact it won’t.

You I’m sure know what it is like being stuck on a phone to somewhere having to wait on hold, we’ve all done it. So I’m sure you can understand how people feel. All we want to do is get our parcel and I’ll re-iterate again, I’m more than happy to pay the customs charge. Its the fact I can’t get through to anyone to pay it.

I expect a quick reply to this and hope you can assist me and others in retrieving their goods.

    Kind Regards

    Andrew Hudson
    (My Parcel Ref: EC**********GB)

    ———- Fingers crossed once more.

  • KingOfMyCastle says:

Don’t be surprised if all you get is an automated reply that asks you to fill out a compensation form.

Keep us updated on what happens.

  • andy hudson says:

I will… but if an automated reply is all I get then Pat is going to have hell to deal with…

  • MAC says:

My goodness, and there was I thinking it was just me!

Delivery 1. I was carded on January 5th indicating it’ll be delivered on the 6th. I wait in all day, eventually get through on the phone to the Gatwick office around 4pm to someone promising me it will be delivered by 7pm.
    Guess what?
It was delivered the following day, 7th. A guy on the phone from Gatwick told me there was a mix up.

Delivery 2. I was carded Thursday 12th Jan. NO CONSIGNMENT written on the card. “Tomorrow” was crossed out and the driver wrote “Monday” (today). I have spent just under 3 hours on the phone trying different ways to get through. Sometimes they tell you to call back later after 8 mins, and twice they said it after 45 mins. Today.

I called 01908687249 and spoke to a nice lady who said she’d try and call the manager at Gatwick.

I honestly can’t believe how hopeless this Gatwick depot are.

  • Andy says:

I got my parcel in the end by sending a cheque to the depot for the customs charge, then they re-delivered and someone happened to be in…

Never at one point did I get through to the Gatwick Depot on the phone nor did they (or have they) replied to my complaint I sent them.

..but someone must be there as they received my cheque! (oh the irony…)

Keep hassling Pat on that number (01908687249) That is all we have to go on!

    andy

  • BrightonSunshine says:

And just wait till your telephone bill arrives .. 08700 844525 cost me a total of £9.46 – one of those calls was over an hour just trying to get through.
Eventually got someone (nice guy) on 0870 850 1150 who sorted it out.
    Good luck.

  • Alistair Bruce says:

My camera from Amazon was due for delivery on March 8th. Track & Trace stated it was ‘Out for Delivery’. This morning this had changed to ‘delivered’ – on 6th March – signed for by Winston who I learn is their driver. Still no camera. What to do?

  • Kevin King says:

Hi Alistair, I understand that drivers are not allowed to sign for any item to be delivered. So do what the others are doing and call the managers office soon, because i think at this rate that will soon change his number into a national rate poxy 0870 number!!!.

    Good Luck guys!

  • Mike Brampton says:

Ah how refreshing to know its not just me…same problems but thanks to this I now know I’m not alone and know who to contact…not that it appears to be making any difference and the parcel that should have been with me 4 days ago still hasn’t arrived, neither have the promised 24 hr answer to enquiry emails sent 24, 48, 72 and 96hrs ago!

I’m gonna call Pat she seems friendly from the info above

  • Mike Brampton says:

I have just spoken to a delicious sounding lady called Carolin at the managing Directors office.
Well she sounds lovely, but the message is that my parcel seems to have disappeared!! it should have been delivered 4 days ago, but it hasn’t even been attempted, and …wait for it….hasn’t been tracked back into the depot either!
I can only guess that a dissolusioned Parcel Force delivery man (probably one of only 3 that “work” at Gatwick) has gone AWOL with his van and all the parcels, why he’s probably driving round somewhere like Doncaster right now, attempting deliveries to addresses that don’t exist.
Anyway, Carolin has advised me not to wait in today, she is 99.9% certain that there won’t be an attemped delivery today. heres hoping.

  • I can see you returning home and finding a “We tried to deliver your parcel” card.

    Good luck!

  • wendy Smith says:

I have paid for next day delivery, still waiting five days later for a item, all phone numbers provided are NOT manned. All direct you to their website that doesn’t help or answer any queries. How does one get their parcels? Customer service is also crap, no one answers, so automated that you are cut off.

  • gene says:

same problem,,surely this is ilegal ? i mean they do not deliver, they are not contactable and there are many complaints. Does anyone know a phone number that will work so you can actualy talk to someone ?

    AVOID PARCEL FORCE!!!

Waiting for parcel to be delivered by Parcelforce, ems china have tracked all the way to London Parcelforce. But guess what Parcel force deny all knowledge even though website says parcel accepted ( but that means they only knew it was coming!!!!)All knowledge of parcel disappeared at 00.12 28 June 2007. After 1 hour of automated telephone frustration got to speak to a rude teenager with attitude, then spoke to her manager who informed me she doesn’t speak Chinese, I don’t recall asking her this, but asking her if she could help me, she then promptly put the phone down on me. Thanks for your help then!
Oh and don’t forget there was a strike on Friday so that will be their excuse for delays for the next 3 months

I have been waiting for an item bought on ebay from the UK (I live in Australia) it ended up with the COVENTRY Parcel Force on the 26th february 2007, then was processed for despatch on the 6th march 2007.
Neither returned to the sender, or leaving the UK, it has never been seen again. I can only track this information from my country’s mail site, but the UK PF lost all information.
The product/item was worth several hundred dollars (even more to me) and I am sincerly distraught that this would, well, has happened.

  • Pammy says:

    aaarrrgghhh!!!!
I also hate parcel force, they are incompetent ar**holes!!!
I ordered a package on Monday 6th and paid extra for next day before 10.30am delivery (Tuesday 7th – yesterday) and still no parcel to be seen. Their website earlier said there was no tracking info but at least now they have updated it to “Parcel at National Hub”…well that’s that parcel lost in the black hole that calls itself Parcelforce :-( …and their phone customer services is automated rubbish!

  • ben says:

Reading this doesn’t bode well – I’ve got an order coming with parcel force, or parcel farce as it seems to be known, and I’m now worried that it won’t arrive!. Are they that bad? I don’t really use them.

  • Rik says:

The Customer Services Manager of the International Hub on 02476 213 361 was helpful and arranged for my missing parcel to be re-delivered.

I wouldn’t recommend PF, but he was very human and helpful.

  • Ashley Cook says:

I ordered a laptop online, and was sent an email couple of days later informing me that it had been dispatched and would be wih me within two workig days. Five days later it has not been delivered, however since my mother is the manager of the local post office she was able to obtain the right number – 0870 084425 option 5, although despite her poition, we found that even the number she was given wasn’t guarunteed to work all the time. Anyway, we were informed that Parcel Farce had tried to deliver the parcel twice even though we had been in both days waiting for delivery, and no note was left either. They then said that they had left it with the next door neighbour, whose name they gave as Squires. Our next door neighbours are not named Squires (I checked the 2007 electoral role and there is no-one with this surname in our entire road), and when I checked with them they said they had not taken in the package. I certainly trust them more than a delivery driver. The current position is that a man named Alan at the Gatwick depot is rying to get in touch with the driver.

I am going to try to find out the number to bypass the manaaging directors call screeners, and I shall then inform him that I will report the incident to the Police, and also sue Parcel Force if the package is not found. Oh, I’m a lawyer by the way.

  • Ashley Cook says:

After a call back from Alan, who admittedly has tried to be helpful, apparantly the delivery driver got confused and delivered the parcel to the wrong road! Apparantly he will be going to try to retrieve the package and then deliver it again, but not for a number or hours as he is doing other deliveries first. I think I should at least be made the priority in this situation, let alone being given a sincere apology for wasting my time.

  • UNKNOWN says:

I received a letter from customs on 13-9 asking me to describe the value and detail of the contents of package (so they know if it is valuable enough to “disappear”). Yah, it is now 28-9 and i haven’t heard a word. I call customs and they claim to have released the package on 19-09 free of charges. Release to whom I ask?? Does this mean I am to suffer terribly in parcel hell?? Anyone ever had this happen and still get their parcel?

If you have a package stuck in customs (waiting for VAT) in the UK call customs to ask for an update on the status. They hardly answer the phone after noon so get to them early in the morning. Usually it is a busy signal, try back an hour later or so and you should get a hold of them. Hope this helps.

I have also waited for practically 2 weeks to have an amazon delivery by parcelfarce – I ended up giving up, getting a refund from amazon and buying the item elsewhere. Not only did they not deliver when I arranged for them to deliver on a certain day (so I took a day off work pointlessly), but when I asked them to deliver it to a local post office, I waited an hour in a queue to find out it wasn’t there, and only a week later did I find out Post Offices only accept certain size parcels, and this one was too big – but did they bother to phone and tell me that ? No they just let me wait in a queue. When I complained a guy blatantly lied to me saying somebody had tried to deliver when I was at home. I just think they’re all sat around with our parcels taking the piss

  • Mic says:

…yes, yes i thought i would save money by shopping on net but didn’t experience anything like parceFarce before. my parcel was apparently delivered and signed for according to track and trace but i haven’t had any parcels come to MY house so where is it? the screen says they have a signature but are not able to actually produce it. they don’t return calls and the manager is always unable to come to the phone or is out. phoning is a complete waste of time. they are full of **it!! i can’t take anymore and i want my money back!!

  • Mic says:

Comet/Laskys on web use Parcelforce so don’t bother. get back to basics and go up the high street, will cost more but it’s less aggro! They deserve the Watchdog treatment.

Its now the 9th and I’ve just complained to PF. The lady at the Customer Service centre has informed me she’s raised a trace on my item and someone should come back to me within 24hrs to give me an update as to the status of my parcel.

I rang the number given by another poster of UK Customs only to listen to a long answer machine message explaining they will not speak to customers searching for their parcels.

I’ll wait for my phone call back tomorrow and report back. :(

  • Paul Cullington says:

Maybe the creator of this blog should contact Nicky Campbell at the BBC directly and make him aware of this page. The level of poor customer service recieved by so many customers is appalling.

  • What I was considering doing is creating a list of stores that send their mail by Parcel Force. That way people can vote with their wallets – the only way to get things done these days it seems.

I haven’t used Dabs since my experience and my parcel was only in the Parcel Force delivery black hole for three days.

Oh I must be so niave, there was I on Tuesday taking my 11.kilo parcel worth nearly £400 to the local post office, Castle Vale Bham actually and I paid the money for 48hour delivery and asked if for a tracking number and signiture on delivery and Im given a receipt on parecel force stationary. Thinking that on Friday according to there guarantee the recipiant would get it. I typed in the tracking number on the pc, absolutely nothing, start to worry abit.Saturday morning I goes down to Castle Vale P.O and says oi what did you do with my parcel!. Well they say we dont deal with parcel force direct, we gave it to Royal mail(news to me)
I waited till monday and rang the depot they said it would have went to, No we havent got it,said the person on the phone then he promptly gave me a number when dialled said it doesnt exist. In the mean time still trying in vain to check tracking. I rang another parcel force depot they said its the post offices fault for giving it to a Royal mail man. Now all three are blaming each other and noone knows where the ell this parcel is. I feel so streesed and angry that I trusted all that advertising. Has anyone tried and succeeded in getting compo? I did not pay £11 for insurance as I never dreamt this hassle would happen. I think the staff just have a field day nicking the stuff, what other reason is there!

  • The Parcel Force Disappreciation Society says:

Package left Los Angeles on a Thursday and was in the country by Saturday thanks to USPS. It then took nearly 2 weeks for Parcel Farce to send to the wrong depot before getting it to the right one and suggesting i drove an 1 and half to pick it up, and then pay them ‘extra admin charges’on top of customs fees, for the privilege whilst i was there! I pointed out they were suppose to be doing the transporting not me at which point they grudging agreed to send it my local post office (wouldn’t trust them not to just chuck it on my door step in broad daylight at this point)and pay over the phone. Got to the Post Office and found another charge waiting for me to transport from depot to P.O having paid ‘fees’ at 2 different points already…….NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOUR A RETARD OR MILLIONNAIRE……

  • Kevin Byrne says:

Trying to get information about my package was like pulling f–king teeth. I cannot get over their inability to post a package which even when I rang and told them where to post the said package to. No that was too simple. They for reasons best known to themselves sent the f–king package back to the USA – GREAT!!! PARCELFORCE you are as much use a tits on a fish.

Parcelforce ain’t worth a lick off your shit. They don’t know how to deliver a parcel on time. They cannot also deliver a parcel without breaking it. I hate Parcel force and if I met the man in charge I would smack him in the mouth. For all the worry and cost they have caused my customers and myself. Fuck Parcelforce

  • Jo says:

Hi, I posted a parcel. By Parcelforce. 27th November. No trace. I paid for insurance to £150,tracking and 3-5 days delivery to china. No sign of it since. Spoke to customer services who said prob picked up by royal mail instead of parcelforce, checked with p.o to see if collected, it was. But no sign of it since. I hope it still gets there. What do you think?

    Here’s a handy link:

    http://www.saynoto0870.com

Hit “Search to find alternate number” in the top, and plug Parcelfart’s (*childish giggle*) number, 0870 8501150, in.

Not only does this mean you aren’t paying through the nose, but it also lists loads and loads of handy numbers like numbers for loads of their local offices.

By calling the first one, 0191 5127003, I got through to a real person who seemed to answer my problem (I hope…) with only 10 minutes of bad Coldplay midi hold music. No menus or anything!

Are you sitting down??? If not you might just fall over!!
Parcelforce tried to deliver a package to myself yesterday, I wasn’t in, the driver didn’t even leave a card to say that they had tried.
So after spending much of the day in awaiting my package and scanning the internet for a phone no so I could fone them about my parcel, I found this site with the wounderful link to saynoto0870. I found the no to the coventry depot. I phoned then, was given the “oh i will phone you back” and i have to say, true to his word Dave Wilson at the branch phoned me back. I have arranged for my parcel to be deliverd to my local post office, so fingers crossed!!! However I do agree with the rest of this site Parcelforce really dont seem to have a clue to how their business is being ran!

  • Damo says:

I used parcelforce for the first time there as it was the chosen courier for a pc i was having delivered.

I got the shipping notification and tracking number from the seller yesterday afternoon and have been tracking it ever since.

It arrived 11:38 on 20th Dec. The expected delivery date was the 21st, but from the tracking I could clearly see it would be with me earlier. Smooth, seamless delivery with good, accurate tracking updates and item arrived in great condition. What can I say? Maybe i just got lucky.

  • Mark Sear says:

ParcelFarce seem to have no idea that there are customers involved in the delivery process and do not seem to understand that we actually book couriers so that things get collected and delivered in a timely manner. We had a failed pick up last week, someone did not pass the delivery details to the driver and an important job was therfroe late, I have now filled in complaints on their web-site (the ones where you get a response in about 2 days – yeah right) three times. All I want to know is what happened so I know why, and whether to keep using them. Quick as a flash, no response. Try to speak with someone and yo ugo through a a tortuous “press 2 for x press 3 for y” system with annoying music, and the amount of time on the phone(if we are paying for it) is a bigger scandal than anything the BBC or ITV managed.
    They really are poor.

  • Row says:

I have to add to this discussion. I have had numerous, numerous problems with Parcelforce – because I live in apartments, they dont bother buzzing in, they drop it off at a local post office to me….any one of 5. Which means, if I track my parcels and see that they have bee n signed for by a stranger, its because it has been signed for by some post office staff. I had a heart attack the first time this happened, but soon figured out I’d have to drive round my local PO’s to locate it…

    “do you have my parcel?”

    “Do you have my parcel?”

Anyway, today they have exceeded themselves by sending my parcel to another town:

What?! You “Missorted” my parcel. Great. Not to mention I am pretty close to liverpool (in Manchester) but the parcel has had to go back to Coventry to be sorted. Plus my items are delicate (that reminds me, they ruined my last package, shattered eyeshadow everywhere).

This is supposed to be due tomorrow, 15th Jan, if it arrives it will be a miracle!

  • Ell says:

I ordered a laptop of play, and after 3 weeks off fuss and bother, it finally got dispatched today, i went on the Parcel Force site to use the delivery code thing to track it.

It said, out on delievery, i though, thats a bit strange, it got dispatched lunchtime today, and Play ship from Jersey, then it said delivered a couple hours later, and I haven’t got anything.. So does this mean play gave me the wrong code, or parcel force have either delivered my parcel to someone else who’ll deliver it to me, or to some complete stranger who gets a free laptop :|

  • JohnF says:

My last 4 deliveries from Parcelforce have gone wrong – supposed to be delivered by Milton Keynes, the driver never even attempts delivery – instead he POSTS me a collection card from the local post office to say he has left it there.

I originally got a nice letter from someone called Vicki Thomas who said “I have reported the whole matter to the manager of the Milton Keynes depot and have requested that this matter is investigated and any training issues dealt with accordingly”

    Yeah right !

At the bottom of her letter was her email address – guess what – sh doesn’t respond to emails. The only number on the letter is the usual 08708 501150 – and we all know how useless that is.

i was just searching for the parcel force website and saw this. i have just been sent an item from japan and i am awaiting for it to come through customs which for some reason is taking longer than the parcels 6000 mile journey to england. i have used parcel force many times and every time i have had a problem. One package that springs to mind took 18 months to arrive at my door and when it did it looked as if some one had run it over and then used it as a toilet, the item was £500 worth of magura gustav mountian bike disc brakes, i was not helped by customer services at all and they were very rude.

    They are shit!

the staff just dont have any manners and they all shout at you for some reason, as though you have done something wrong.

    Well,
when I tracked my parcel late night on Sunday 3rd, it said that my parcel was ‘sorted in hub’ in Coventry.
    Estimated day of delivery, 05/02/2008
I thought , great, a bit of a lie in today.
No!, my parcel arrived at 7.45am today, Monday 4th.
I think I know why they do this now.
If you miss them, they will redeliver to another address for the sum of £5.50 I think it is.
All these £5.50s add up !!!!!
I wondered why they kept coming really really early and knocking so very quietly.
My sister had the same experience with them.
    What a bunch of £&*%$£*

  • Mandy says:

    Oh yes,
    customs,
I spoke to a woman at parcelforce who told me that,

    I was lucky ‘this time’
My parcel was valued at $250 and it came straight to me ?.

I found this site while looking for Parcelforce contact numbers. Although reading everyone else’s troubles is morbidly interesting, I’m trying to sort out my own (hour on phone, delivery due yesterday, waited in all day, numpty tells me it’s still in Coventry, usual crap).

During my hour on the phone with various attempts at pressing option numbers I managed to speak to two humans. Here’s how I did it:

Phoned 08708 501150, #3 (other), #2 (speak tracking number). After 2 aborted attempts at digitally recognising my Scottish accent a human lady picked up the phone. She told me my parcel should be delivered today. She gave me the number of the Aberdeen office and put me through.

Aberdeen office number is 08700 844589. It sounds like another automated irritant but press #5 to speak to a local human chappie. He tells me my parcel is still in Coventry. I tell him how fuckin’ useless his company is and put the phone down.

Hope these numbers help someone else in my position. Please add your own local numbers to this site and collectively we’ll be a wee bit less stressed.

  • rootsgirluk says:

now in this one it says the item is awaiting customs charges, and not awaiting customs charging. in some of the above posts it says charges and charging exactly after each other, does anyone know what these mean and if it is significant that they are different.

  • stuart macgregor says:

sorry i missed something out, the price i paid was £87 and the seller claimed he spent only £22 on postage instead of the £30 he quoted so the value that should be on the customs form should be around £80.

i had a parcel from America a few months ago and customs took it and even though it was labeled as being under £36 and a gift, i believe it was about £24 which is well below the limit they still took it. it was a bungie.net t-shirt and so was not a danger to the country. still they took it and they opened its protective packaging and broke the limited edition hanger for it and would not pay for braking it.

back to my previous post if you know what it means it would be a big help, thanks

When I tried to track my parcel the pf site told me that it had arrived in destination country at 21.14 28th March however was being held at International Hub Coventry due to address problems that were being investigated. Having spent approx 4 hours on the phone to various PF depts yesterday, I’ve now been told that the address has ‘probably’ fallen off parcel and now it ‘might’ be on a flight back to Aus. However, it ‘might’ be still in Coventry. Feel like screaming!!!

  • Mandy says:

Mike , I was helping my disabled husband to dress one morning at 7.30am.
We came downstairs to find a card from PF pushed through the letter box, (unable to deliver), the time stated 7.50am.
We were both up and awake and heard ‘NO ONE’ knocking.
This has happened to other people I know.
They have actually been in their homes and have received, (unable to deliver) cards through their letter boxes.

  • Mandy says:

Another point I’d like to make is that most of us try to make sure we are available to receive our parcels but how the heck can we do that when the ‘Parcelforce Tracking Service’ never seem’s to be working !!!
When it ‘IS’ working, and there is an ‘expected delivery day’, Parcelforce ‘WILL NOT’ guarantee that the parcel will actualy arrive on that day.
You covering your back’s all the way so don’t patronise us by calling us whingers.

  • Mark says:

Just to say we sent a parcel to Australia via ParcelForce Global Priority and can’t praise the service enough. Felt it was only right to add some praise when it’s due, as you don’t often find happy customers posting on such sites. The parcel was posted late Thursday evening and arrived in Australia Monday. The ParcelForce tracking site was excellent for keeping up to date with the parcels progress at every stage. Full marks all round.

  • James - West Mids says:

Since April we’ve had our very own Parcelforce telephone based account manager based in the Birmingham Mail Centre who deals with all issues regarding our account (e.g. failed collections/deliveries) and things have improved considerably. I believe Parcelforce have had a restructure and now you have a dedicated person looking after you if you have an account with them, which is brill! Credit where credits due!

    some interesting reading…

    (2) Anything to which this subsection applies shall have the same immunity from—
    (a) examination, or seizure or detention, under a relevant power conferred by virtue of this Act or any other enactment,
    (b) seizure under distress or in execution,
    (c) in Scotland, any diligence, and
    (d) retention by virtue of a lien,

Subsection 2d above states that it is against the law to hold you packet by virtue of lien, this means holding it to ransom for payment of a fee, This is the important bit, Parcelforce will not deliver your parcel without payment of the HM C&E VAT and their Clearance fee. They are breaking the law, they must deliver your parcel without delay and invoice you for the fees.

This is covered in section 105 of the act. They can charge a fee but it can only be obtained by civil action, this means if you don’t pay either of the fees – VAT or the clearance fee, Parcelforce can only take you to small claims court.

Note: Parcelforce have paid the HM C&E VAT on your behalf, you no longer owe VAT to HM C&E and as such, you are not breaking the law by refusing to pay Parcelforce which is just a PLC with fat cats at the top.

My anger at the clearance fee started three weeks ago August 2007. I telephoned everywhere and initially got nowhere, so I read the Postal Services Act. I refused to pay for my parcel and spoke to Lynn Gawthorpe at Parcelforce HQ 01908 687000. I quoted the relevant sections of the act and I was allowed to pick up my parcel without any payment.

I have now made a complaint to the Police, if you speak to them at Morriston Police Station, Swansea 01792 456999 (ask for Morriston) you will add weight to the criminal prosecution of the Directors of Parcelforce.

I have also made a complaint through the Postal Commission (regulators of the act) and you can add to this by speaking to Sean O’Hara on 020 75932100 or emailing him on sean.ohara@psc.gov.uk with your information and parcel details.

DO NOT PAY FOR YOUR PARCEL UNTIL DELIVERED

IF YOU WANT TO DISPUTE THE CLEARNCE FEE, IT IS WITHIN YOUR RIGHTS NOT TO PAY

I went onto HMRC and looked at the current customs rates which are 17.5% VAT and after using their currency conversion I converted the price in $ to the price in £ and the customs charge should be £33 (plus this apparent £8 PF fee).
If it is any larger than that they can fuck off if they think i’m paying it and I will contact customs and contest the amount.

If I do end up calling the depot they take it too and they tell me they’ve tried to deliver it to me but recieved no answer then i’m going to laugh and then go mental. Why? Because my house has CCTV and it records all day, every day.
So if they try to peddle that shite about failed delivery attempt i’ll send them the tapes showing their blatent lies.
I’m also going to record all correspondences with them.

    Useless company.
    Next time i’m using UPS.

I’m another one surprised with the custom charges, didn’t know they existed, and they’re so high! I bought item for $80 from ebay shop, pay $45 for shipping thought it’s not that bad, but £22 for custom charges, and £12 for saturday delivery because i cannot wait anymore (it was b’day present), that’s definately not worth it…

  • Ian says:

Custom charges are determined by HMRC and not Parcelforce.

I bought a 37″ lcd tv off ebay, worth a lot of money, still in its original box, which the seller posted to me threw parcelfarce. It was collected from the sellers home, made its way to the nearest depot then dissapeared. Both me and the sender spent hour after hour on the phones to parcelfarce every day for around 2weeks trying to trace the parcel. We were passed from depot to depot, given tales of broken scanning equiptment before finally a manager rang the sender to tell him “we have done an extensive search for your parcel and its GONE, I would put a claim in if I were you cos its proberbly been stolen”. HOW CAN A MEMBER OF PARCELFORCE STAFF STEAL A 5FT X 2FT PARCEL CONTAINING A TV UNNOTICED UNCHALLENGED AND GO UNPUNISHED. THE COMPANY IS A DISGRACE. IN 2006 14000000 PARCELS WERE LOST OR STOLEN BY PARCELFORCE IN 1 YEAR. SAYS IT ALL! NEVER USE THIS COMPANY! DON’T DO BUSSINESS WITH ANYONE THAT DOES!

  • Rowena says:

Parcelforce are indeed a farce. I get a LOT of post, and I mean at least 5 parcels a week. The best are Citylink (not faultless though), Interlink and UPS is amazing. UPS guarantee delivery by 6 and they stick by their word.

The worst by FAR are parcelforce and Amtrak. Even home delivery network are better than Parcelforce!

The thing is, when something is sent by EMS, which is a safe, trackable service, people have no CHOICE – Parcelforce will naturally receive the parcel for you. In other words, they will always have guaranteed business, hence they can hire the 17 year old snot nosed lads that sit like planks whilst you stand rain sodden, clutching a tracking number (because you KNOW they rarely leave a calling card – because they don’t turn up!) because it doesn’t matter if their staff are rude, unhelpful and unknowledgable – they will have custom anyway.

I could go on and on about the times the Parcelforce person delivered to some random person near my street. Or when they kept dropping of my parcels at the local depot, claiming I had not been in all day (I work from home)…until that is, I noticed on the tracking that the parcel was out for delivery at 7.00am and had been dropped off at the local post office (not specified so I had to drive round to several local offices to check), at 7.14am. In other words, driver dropped a ton of parcels off at the office and probably spend the rest of the supping Mcdonalds coffee. Because he sure as hell didn’t even ATTEMPT to deliver to me.

And they always always ignore your complaints. I have never had an apology from them.

Anyway I noticed some disgruntled employees etc. posting on here which is fair enough, but personally I want to say that:

    1) I have no issue at all paying Tax and customs on my items. However, in cases where I have been charged on a parcel worth £18.50 (I kid you not), the total cost has come to a £9, minimum. That’s YOUR fees for doing next to nothing. That I disagree with.

    2) I have never been NOT in when waiting for a parcel. Drivers know they can use that as an excuse and no one can disprove them.

That’s all. I wish I could choose to not use Parcelforce, but EMS parcels do automatically get passed on to them, and people don’t always have access to alternative services.

  • ed says:

expected an international parcel to be delivered, didnt know about the additional costs, which are clearly profiteering ‘parcelforce clearance fee’ its a ring and they are charging £13.50 for letting a matchbox sit on a shelf. i tried to pay online, for delivery, the website said the transaction failed, but lo and behold i checked my account today and its gone through. of course the delivery hasnt taken place on the day they estimated.
i gotta bad feeling about this.

I jsut bought a Playstation 3 online, which Parcle Force attempted to deliver yesterday. Yesterday afternoon I filled in an online request for them to leave it for collection at my local Post Office. Instead today they return to my block of flats and tell me that one “Clare” signed for it. When I objected to this on the phone to them, they said that it was company policy to leave parcels with a neighbour (presumably even though such request had ever been made) – which is patently ridiculous. I am now left in the position of trying to locate this “Clare” who has my PS3. It seems that their attitude is “well, we’ll just hand it over to the first person we see. No need to worry about the name on the address label”.

  • Brendan says:

Im waiting for a parcel but so far its not been “TOO” long so wont mention any negativity, but looking at other peoples tracking details they have posted here…

Why, Infact How, is it possible to get a parcel from USA/Australia/China to the UK customs place quicker than it is for them to actually deliver it from there?!?!?! Just shows the incompetance of UK postal services.

(ps ive had a parcel “attempted delivery” before although no card was ;eft and no one came to my door as i’d stayed home that day… yet wehen I called and got throuhg to someone they said someone had knocked on the door, then she said “is it a brown door?” nice 50:50 chance there… liars :(

I had an expensive item delivered to me recently from the northern US. On receipt (after paying VAT, the idiotic admin charge and an extra charge for weekend delivery – more fool me), I received the package to find it had been opened. While all the packaging was intact, there was no item ! Someone had very carefully replaced the item’s rest cushion in its box, so it looks like a deliberate theft by a staff member.

I have had delivery issues with this firm before – usually compounded by outright lies from depot staff – but this one is just incredible. Only the sender can file a claim form, so my only recourse is to file a complaint.

Parcel shipped from Thailand – in the teeth of airport blockades and the country now being listed as one of the most dangerous and unstable in the world. No problem.

Arrives at Heathrow on the 4th of December and then takes a leisurely three days to reach the International Hub. It has now spent another three days in the black hole that is Awaiting Customs Charges.

If previous messages are anything to go by it won’t arrive till after Xmas.

    Parcelfarce indeed.

  • Theresa says:

Pure panic mode here feel like bursting into tears I have ordered items from china for my neices and nephews christmas. Both left on different days and from different airports shanghai and beijing but nothing on parcel force website! Except left origin country I am panicking I know there are still 12 days till christmas but two items I had bought for myself were on time and no problems. I have phoned 02476213361 and left an abrupt message stating that these items should be in the uk by now, yet they have not updated or tracked these items and that they are presents. I have gave them the dates and times and the area they were flown from and the tracking numbers. I am even more worried now reading all of the messages above :@s

  • Heidi says:

Theresa I wouldn’t hold out too much hope of receiving the parcels anytime this year. I’ve been waiting for my parcel from China which was posted from Shanghai on the 4th. It arrived @ Heathrow on 7th & was taken to the international hub @ Coventry where according to the tracking website it’s been through customs & sent onto the Outward Office of Exchange. It’s been sitting there 5 days now. I have made several calls & sent quite a few emails but no one I’ve spoken to in customer services even knows what the outward office of exchange is!!!!

I have been told by 2 different members of staff that the parcel is still awaiting clearance from customs & 3 other people that it’s been through customs with no charges. I’ve even been told by my local depot that its been sent to recovery, whatever that is!

To say Im p***ed off is an understatement & I will be back on the phone first thing tomorrow(not that it will do me any good!!!!)

Good luck to all of you waiting for your parcels!!!!!

  • Theresa says:

    Hey Heidi

I phoned yesterday as i had arrived at outward office of exchange. When I googled it I panicked! Customer service told me that it is just a term to say that it is ready and waiting to be sent to the national hub. My package is out for delivery today and my other parcel coming from shanghai reached heathrow airport yesterday and is now at the international hub awaiting customs charging. I was majorly worried due to nothing being updated guess with it being christmas. My beijing parcel which is out for delivery had different terms written on the tracking system. All items will be delivered withing the 5-8 days specified by ems.

Have you phoned the Customer Services Manager of the International Hub on 02476 213 361?

I left a message on saturday on the answering machine with my details phone number and my tracking numbers quite an abrupt message then all of a sudden on sunday there was the details. Maybe theymight be able to help?

Good luck to Heidi & all

    Merry Crimbo x

  • Theresa says:

Good news one parcel arrived :@D

  • Heidi says:

So glad your parcel has arrived Theresa, you must be relieved!!!!

I’ve had another email back from customer services & they reckon my parcel is deffo being held by customs even though their tracking website says it’s at the outward office of exchange. They reckon the outward office of exchange IS part of customs & not parcelfarce (maybe they should tell all staff this as I have been told several times my parcels cleared customs). Think I’ll give customs a call tomorrow.

  • Lucy says:

Heidi, looks like ive had the same problem as you, my parcel left Beijing the 4th December, now it is at the outward office of exchange on the 10th Dec, however still havnt recieved my parcel… spent hours trying to track it down on the phone but just get sent back and forth to the same numbers, i did speak to a lady at east midland airport… no is: 0113 2852852 extention num: 2928/3276/3373… she was helpful and basically told me everything from china is being checked to see if it is fake!!hope it helps and good luck

  • Margaret Mackay says:

Who signed my name for a parcel from John Lewis Direct at o9.15 on 19 December. No one in this block of 8 flats has the parcel and even if it had been delivered to another flat the delivery wo/man always puts a card through the door indicating where the parcel was delivered to. I have spent hours with John Lewis, Edinburgh – who were very helpful although it was nothing to do with them (Direct belongs to another division), on telephone calls to John Lewis Direct and also on international calls to Italy where my son and daughter and law who ordered the goods (and paid an extra £6.00 to ensure Friday 19th delivery), now live. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE ROOTED WITH PARCEL FORCE, EDINBURGH – a disaster zone or just downright dishonest.

  • John Rowland says:

Fascinating stuff! Parcelforce Gatwick declared to the sending company that my parcel – which was a big pack of sofa cushions – had been delivered correctly last Friday and signed for by the lady who was expecting it.
In reality it was dumped in an unoccupied property further down the road and left in the garden behind a wall. Still wonder who the mystery lady was and why she should leave it out in winter weather knowing it was a pile of precious cushions. Could it have been the delivery driver from Gatwick I wonder? Good job a neighbour noticed the parcel on Monday.
And I still have not found a way through the automated system to find a real person to talk to. BEWARE OF PARCELFORCE.

  • J says:

these people at parcelforce are total muppets. How long before we see these idiots on the news moaning about losing jobs, when the sevice they provide is not even second rate. Lazy moaning bastards, provide a decent service and people will happily pay to use you. fucking simple.
Now have another fucking cup of tea and think about it, while we wait for our mail. tossers

  • j says:

i just quit my job there and i can tell you know i bet you dont get your parcel by monday customs (international hub) is taking like a week to put through the most simplist parcel, because of all the fake goods coming through china, if you bought anything like ghd’s, ugg boots wave goodbye they aint coming through, and for once this isnt parcel force customs is basically the goverment there stopping all mail pf or other wise

  • j says:

kansuke if you ring your local depot i can find out for you i think you get pay charges over phone with them and it be relised that day for delievery the next, you should have recieved a mess by now

  • s says:

j does anyone actually work at international hub at weekend?

  • Kansuke says:

All the immigrants that work at the hub have probably gone home for xmas. Paid for by all the parcels they managed to steal.

  • s says:

oh my god, looks like immigrants missed one and somebody has woken up there.
Been released with charges, right guys who do i call now?

  • Kansuke says:

Your shipment entered customs 6 days after mine and mine is still stuck on 17-12-08 AWAITING CHARGING. Where is the logic in that ???

    Useless tossers.

  • s says:

would you F#*king believe it. The bastards now have my parcel at local depot, and will not let me pay customs charges without a letter which i have to wait even longer for. These people will never again see any of my money

  • Kansuke says:

You don’t need to wait for the letter. Just go to the depot and demand your parcel. They have to give the parcel to you as its your property. If they refuse say you will call the police.

  • j says:

s, no i dont think anyone does

  • Kansuke says:

Well my parcel finally turned up at the depot today. Was held awaiting payment of charges. I never wait for the letter just drive down and collect it no problem.

  • s says:

well got me parcel, drove down without letter, they kindly let me have parcel ‘this time only’ but next time will need letter.
So ‘this time only’ i didnt have to pull em out from behind the counter.

  • Matt says:

I run a mailorder company and switched to Parcelforce the beginning of 2008 due to the exceptional prices they were offering….now i can see why. I’ve never had so many complaints from customers having delayed deliveries, not having cards pushed through the door for non deliveries and goods delivered to the wrong address. My collection driver actually thinks it’s funny to tell me how he chucks parcels over garden walls if people aren’t available, and how many parcels he’s going to fail because he can’t be ‘bothered’.

Changing my carrier for 2009, fingers crossed they haven’t caused me any long term damage as we have always had an excellent reputation for service……..beware businesses looking for a carrier!

  • Graham says:

Tried to pick up a parcel at Romford. I don’t have the required ID – I don’t drive, I haven’t a passport and utility bills are in my partners name. A bank statement wasn’t good enough as I was told “You could give any address for a bank account”. To rub salt in, they brought the parcel out, showed me it, took it back and told me to arrange for it to be delivered to my local branch. £5 charge and expect to see it in about a week.
    Utter Wankers.

  • GORDI says:

I’ve had 22 parcels come through in december, all from china. All but 2 so far have made it through no problem. The one i’m having biggest problem with has been sitting at Outward Office Of Exchange since 23rd. Parcelforce rekon that customs are indeed being more vigilant with fake goods coming through china but they must only be stopping/searching a small percentage of parcels still. Mostly an item only seems to stay at the Outward Office Of Exchange from 2mins to 30 mins. If its there longer than that chances are customs are investigating it and will sieze it if they can definetively prove it’s fake. The online parcel updating system for parcelforce has also been erratic of late. Has anyone else had items held at OUTWARD OFFICE OF EXCHANGE for a lenghty period. And if so what was the outcome- goods siezure?goods released?charges brought? etc Would be good to know.

  • Heidi says:

    Hi Gordi

My parcel was at the outward office of exchange for 14 days then I received a letter from customs informing me that is would be destroyed it the item was proved to be fake.

Sounds to me like this may the case with your parcel.

  • Denice says:

Yes Parcelforce does happen to be the worst courier in the world. I worked in customs and shipping for 19 years and I now run an accommodation address and Parcelforce were always saying that they couldn’t deliver as I wasn’t in! I was and had proof on several occassions. Then a parcel got delivered to the post office but not my usual local one and as I didn’t get a card I couldn’t pick it up as was for one of the clients plus this post office didn’t know me. After about 2 weeks of interaction with the depot the stupid cow who is the customer services manager couldn’t be bothered admitting that she had stuffed up and stopped answering my phone calls, emails and texts. I got the name of the managing director in Wakefield and wrote to him. The parcel ended up being sent back to India but we now have a new courier and I get my clients parcels. Oh in case anyone wants it the managing director is called Dave Smith and this is his address:
    Dave Smith
    Parcelforce Worldwide Customer Services,
    PO Box 486
    Wakefield
    WF1 9AG
Threaten legal action and also stick in a claim as the cretins don’t like that. Good luck to all

i know it has only been five days but i rang PF up to find out what the awaiting custom charging means. i got through straight away after choosing my options i ask what does it mean, the woman told me, its because youve purchased an item from a country that isnt EU, so customs have it, so i said how long is it gonna take now, she said they can keep it as long as they want. WASTE OF TIME , SPACE, AND EXCITMENT.

should of just gone with standard delivery they probably would of gotten here sooner. and they best not make me pay s**t on a 36 pound pair of shoes that would take the p**s

Hi there, just a short note to share my recent experience with Parcel Force. I purchased some items from Chain Reaction Cycles in the UK; they use Parcel Force / Royal Mail for shipping. My parcel was shipped on 3/24/09 and cleared customs in time to reach my local post office by 3/27/09. Once the shipment reaches the US, it is handed over to USPS for delivery. My parcel is scheduled for delivery on 3/31/09.

I am familiar with the the difficulty / frustration associated with shipping/receiving; I’m sorry so many of you have had delivery problems. However, I am thankful my experience with Parcel Force has been more than satisfactory.

I sent a couple inquiries to Parcel Force via email; I was very concerned after reading the responses on your website. Fortunately, Parcel Force customer responded to me within 24 hours; I have received 3 messages from them since yesterday. In addition, the information they provided was very helpful; I honestly couldn’t ask for better customer service.

Best wishes to everyone on your side of the world; hope you’re all having better weather; it’s been cold snowing all season.

    Best Regards,

I don’t mind paying the charges if I get any, but PF say it’s customs, and customs say it’s PF, and I’ve only managed to get through to customs ONCE on account of them always being engaged.

These clowns should hire enough people to deal with the packages. If they are willing to take millions of pounds in duty / VAT / surcharges from us, they should have the infastructure to support it.

After all – the more imports, the more money they get from us?!

Customs & parcel force are a match made in hell, I dont know how these people keep there jobs????~they all need to go on a customer service course!!!~ why cant they just do their job properly?? it would make everything so much easier, I forgot its tax payers money that pays them~ another scam of getting our hard earned money off of us, Customs ~ run by the goverment ~ they couldnt organise a p*ss up in a brewery!

MPs stealing tax payers money to pay for luxury items “its within the rules” rubbish anyone else would be jailed and have to pay back every single penny with interest. (sorry to rant about that)

  • Ste says:

I have an item that was sent from Thailand to the UK just under a week ago that simply reads “handed over”. Anyone know what this means? Does anyone know where I can get information regarding the meaning of statuses on the parcel force website?

Seems a bit silly to have a status for a parcel then not explain its meaning!

  • Jamie Reader says:

I paid £20 delivery charge for something from USA, which I thought was a little steep, but it was fine.
I waited a over week, no word of my parcel which was due, so I called ParcelForce, and they said that it is being held till a customs charge was paid off, of £21.30. They didn’t tell me of this, and had just awaited my call.

The item was only worth about £15, but was out of stock everywhere in the Uk at this moment in time, I ended up paying £66 in total for it! Ridiculous.

  • Rick W says:

Parcel Farce have completely screwed me over.

A relative sent my extremely important college transcripts from the UK. She paid for the most expensive 2 day international service and told the item would be with me in the USA by Saturday 27th August.

Basically its not going to arrive in time for my application deadline even though it was sent with plenty of time to spare.

Why it sat in the International Hub for 3 days is anyone’s guess. Repeated calls to PARCEL FARCE customer service have yielded no results and I’ve been told the package would be arriving since Tuesday 1st SEPTEMBER.

Words fail me at how disappointed I am with the lack of service. How can Fedex and UPS deliver a similar package in 2 days to California for same money or less???

I will tell everyone I meet to avoid parcel farce like the plague and never again use them in my life. If you value your items, use someone else, it may cost a few pennies more but you’ll get it on time and undamaged.

    Hi,
on 28.09.09 I bought a laptop from USA,according to USPS – Parcelforce tracking sistem it entered UK on 02.10.09 since then it been deliverd to into foreign customs and I have a strange feeling they gone keep it for long, as today is 13.10.09.. what a useles c…ts they are.. cant believe they can be such usless….waisting tax payers money from one side and from another not doing their job, as well as parcel force invented somehing like handling fee., what an idiots… hope one day they all colapse and those lasy bustards will have to move their asses to find smt ore suitable 4 them

  • chris says:

I bought a car exhaust cat on Ebay, private seller was ill and posted late (yesterday), he knew I needed it by today for a free re-test of car so he paid extra and sent it Parcelforce GUARANTEED next day delivery (Express AM)…. you guessed it it never arrived, stayed in all day. Now have to pay another £50 for MOT when it does, if it does, actually arrive. I’m in Haywards Heath and parcel is still in hub in Exeter!

  • Ha! This is the first leg of my supposed Parcel Force 48 delivery:

20-10-2009 15:57 Rotherham East Depot On route to hub
19-10-2009 14:45 Westwoodside Collected from Post Office Branch

AA Route Planner says the distance is less than 25 miles, but it took over 25 hours for the parcel to get their and be sent on to the National Hub. Efficient!

My parcel was “handed to the delivery agent” today but a quick phonecall to PF and I’m told it won’t actually arrive ’till tomorrow because of a “delay” before they hung up. I know 96 hours instead of 48 isn’t much compared to most of your guys’ woes but I paid £15 for this crap and had to arrange for people to be at home yesterday and today for nothing.

Won’t be using them again, that’s for sure!

  • zed says:

My parcel was sent from China (it says’ left the origin country.) on Oct 22, until now (Nov 11), it hasn’t reached UK yet. The parcelforce staff told me that they have no information about it. I called EMS China (let a chinese girl talked to them.) The chinese staff said it was sent out of China. So…… no one knows where it is and no one shows any responsibilities!!

  • T STEWART says:

WELL IM TOTALY FUCKED OFF WITH THESE NOBS. NO ONE TO TALK TO CARNT FINED MY ITEM IN THERE SYSTEM IDYETS. NEVER AGAINE

  • Valentina says:

Parcelforce is the worst nightmare I’ve been into, they’re totally fuckers….
As I was moving back in italy from the uk I shipped the “heaviest” stuff (books, cds, dvds) but also my working tools (as an artist: brushes, paints, whatever)
they manage to loose both of them because the documents basically dropped off I can’t even imagine how they load/unload the trucks to rip a plastic envelope taped on the box!
Now I’m waiting since a week and one is definately untrackable, the other one is stuck in Coventry international hub!
The numbers provided to contact them are useless and there seem not to be any phone number for coventry hub…just email
it’s awful, hate them, I will not use them ever again
I can’t think that I’ve lost my precious, priceless gear!!!!!

  • John Obertain says:

The stutus of mine says advised. What the hell does that mean?

  • tony says:

Well, here I am, yep searched “Parcel Force are crap” or such like. Basically don’t use them. They have terrible telephone systems, always blame customs (which actually is where my parcel is) and take no care over parcels. It’s basically the Royal Mail attitude which is of course where they came from.

We should fire the bloody customs team at Coventry also. Numerous calls there where they said to me yesterday they had 200 (YES TWO HUNDRED) cages full of parcels, a horrible backlog. I said you need more staff…she laughed “Yes, it’s that time of year, just busy”. Well get some more then, temporary whatever, jesus, who runs these places?!

Makes you MAD to be British.

  • Shaun Pearce says:

My girlfriend ordered me a pair of headphones from America, they were sent by USPS and there was an extra charge so we could have them delivered by express 24. Turns out it only too 2 fucking days to get across one of the biggest countries in the world but yet when when it gets to this piece of shit we call england….customs decide to hold it. Not only for 24 hours or 48 hours, try fucking 8 days. Now we are being told be owe them £23 for charges and handling fees. How about you suck my dick parcel force!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nakai says:

Spent 90 AUD just to send a parcel to my girlfriend in the UK (price is just shipping cost, not even included items cost) just to find that she can not even get her hands on the parcel. She waited for her parcel since last Thursday, and she just called them and they were giving her a load of BS saying that there is a “DELAY” and it has not been picked up by the delivery guy. What a whole bunch of crap.

  • Nakai says:

Oh, and should I add = the lady talking to my gf over the phone was fkin rude when my gf was inquiring about the parcel she was supposed to receive A FEW FKIN DAYS AGO – ended convo even without an apology. Nice piece of biatch for customer service dey got there.

  • Nakai says:

Great : the latest excuse now they givin is = “One of our delivery drivers has put his car keys in the van and got them jammed – don’t know if your parcel was on it. It will definitely be there today”.

  • Andrew Montgomery says:

OK< lets just get a grip ! we are two weeks from xmas !!!! I know that it is a stressful time but please let us not vent our anger on the poor cretins that finds themselves on the end of the phone of us ……… it is not the individual (cretin) that fucks up as but the oraganisation…..please vent you anger to the right place. Hi, just wanted to add my 2 pennies worth….
I had paid for some straighteners on ebay for my sister, paid via paypal, seller stated that they were based in London, England.
I then recieve an email from ebay saying that the item has been removed… so the bastard has got my money and then fucked off.
i was advised by ebay to raise a dispute and after several attempts to contact the seller i raised it to a claim.
I look at the seller details on paypal, the guy is actually from shanghai! i get an e-mail from paypal today saying that the seller has responded to them and that he has given them a tracking number. i check that and it is for EMS (so PARCELFARCE will get it! grr)and it has left china (APPARENTLY)and it was sent today, when i paid on the 8th dec 2009.
so who knows if i will get this parcel and whether i will be smacked with fees but i did read an interesting post which said that it is illegal for them to hold your parcel awaiting payment for handling fees etc! sec 105 of the postal services act. contact trading standards if they are being knobs about it.
I dont even know if the parcel i get will be the one i paid for, so the paypal claim still stands and if they charge me i will claim back for the charges! not my fault the seller is a scamming little theif!

hi everyone this is the only information I have on my parcel from china.it was sent by ems and presumably it is being handed over to parcel force but I’m not expecting it to be any time soon. I’ll be honest I have a counterfeit item coming what are the chances of it being found and destroyed?? Surely they don’t open every single parcel?
also the status of the parcel is advised,I have read elsewhere that this means the parcel has been aknowledged by parcel force in the uk and it is on route!! What the he’ll us taking so long if the service states it is express 24!!

i was looking for reassurance but Reading the above comments I have become more worried.if anyone can answer any of the questions I’ve asked I would be very greatfull,
great to see I’m not alone with this parcel turmoil!!

    Merry Christmas ;-)

    does anyone know why?

  • lainey says:

So my parcel made it home. A week late. Sent in claims form before Christmas. Called to check where it was and told to call back IN TWO WEEKS. By then of course if they haven’t received it I will be past the 30 days after posting deadline for claims. SNEAKY BASTARDS. Why would they take SO LONG to see if a claim has come in, or is the volume of complaints SO LARGE that it takes 3 weeks to process one??!

Had a parcel sent to me by Parcelfarce, THREE TIMES they could not deliver to me due to ‘adverse weather conditions’, NEVER MIND the depot is in the SAME TOWN as the delivery address, I received parcels from other couriers during that time and the roads were FINE, but then after that I didn’t receive it again because there was insufficient/incorrect address! UH… I double checked, it was the same address I ALWAYS USE, how come other companies managed to get my parcels to me AT MY ADDRESS?? It’s a work address, a receptionist is available all day to let them in, they all know MY NAME… I know why, because Parcelfarce are FUCKING INCOMPETANT!!! NEVER !! I WILL ACTIVELY ENCOURAGE PEOPLE TO NEVER EVER USE THEM!!

  • Toshi says:

I’m worried now! My parcel is already late, but i just assumed it was down to the bad weather. I know the parcel has been sent as he is a mate of mine and he sent the tracking number, and also i live about 20 mins from Gatwick. Honestly can’t believe the ineptitude of these people, how are they still in jobs and how is parcelforce still going?!?!? At least my mate has agreed to stop using parcelforce in the future, he has also contacted them stating this.

This forum dates back to Nov 8th 2005!!! That’s 4 YEARS or this crap. I think everyone here should send complaints at the same time, maybe then they’ll realise how shit they are, if they don’t already

Anyhow, i’ll see what happens and report back

Hope you all had a good Christmas and new year regardless of parcelsuckonmyballs

  • Toshi says:

Sorry just to comment on Andrew Montgomery December 15th, 2009 at 8:20 pm, This message board has been going on for 4 years, you cannot blame Christmas ‘Stress’ for the vast amount for complaints

  • David says:

If anyone needs to get in touch with the Gatwick depot, the number is 0844 2096125. I’ve just had to call them as they haven’t bothered even putting my parcel out on the van today even though it is supposed to be on an Express24 guaranteed 24 hour delivery. The reason it isn’t being delivered today is because that route has a backlog, so they offloaded a lot of the parcels regardless of the service paid for. I was told that they would look out the parcel and make sure it goes out on tomorrow’s delivery. Let’s see…

  • Adrian, belfast says:

had to get some documents (3 or 4 pages) sent to australia urgently. unfortunately local post office suggested parcelforce global express “guarantees 2 day delivery”, at a cost of £56. it was 1pm monday 11th jan, i figured ‘it’ll be there by wednesday, thursday morning at the latest’. tracking shows it entered australia at 7am on FRIDAY and at 3pm ‘delivery delayed beyond our control’, and now “17 jan” 1am (sic) “awaiting customs clearing”.

phoned parcelforce to complain, told they only guarantee 3 or 4 day delivery, the post office worker is at fault, not parcelforce.

found this site when trying to see how to get my money back. will never knowingly use pf again.

    adrian, belfast

  • Wazza says:

I purchased a media pc from taiwan and it has been stuxk in customs since thu, status showing ‘awaiting custom charges’. Called parcelforce in morning and the rep told me that customs are dealing with a 2day backlog so expect them t clear it by next week. Funny thing is that the parcel was marked as gift by seller. Does anyone know how to speed things up, its being held at the COVENTRY international hub. Anyone have thier number? even if i can get it sent to my local leeds depot by mon its a plus! help me please ppl!!

  • Mark R says:

Parcel force are the worst outfit in the world, disgrace to British workers
to many people being paid for jobs they are not doing,
Why do they need a call centre in Wakefield when they can only see what we see when tracking an item then tell you to ring here ring there, We have had a parcel in the HUB for 21/2 weeks and as not moved on the system, the item got from Australia to the Hub in 5 Days
They give you that much rubbish its unbelievable, different depts within parcelforce take your number and tell you they will call you back i have left our number with 11 different people and not one as called back, disgraceful company, when they were going on about striking they should have all been fired and replaced by people who want to work for money, ALL I CAN ADVISE PEOPLE IS NOT TO USE THESE MUPPETS, YOU MANY PAY AN EXTRA FEW QUID BUT YOU WILL GET YOUR PARCEL AND HAVE NO NEED TO CONTACT IDIOTS-R-US AND BE GIVEN A LOAD OF BULLSHIT BY SOME ROBOTIC MORON

06/02/10 sent a £1000 item through parcelforce to south africa £82 via paypal, turns out it was a scam/spoof paypal. 07/02/10 got the police involved and recieved a crime ref number.08/02/10 contacted parcelforce who continued to send the parcel on,even the police phoned and told them it was obtained through fraud.surely they are part of the crime now, they even told me the item was still in there depot and would not leave the country till wednesday. they had plenty of time to intercept this parcel but after 5+ hours on the phone to them, no help. use there service again “not in a life time”.

  • Matthew says:

This is by far the most useful Parcelforce information site I have come across – good work guys!

I ordered a parcel from UK to Australia. They attempted delivery (apparently) but left no indication they had been. The parcelforce website was vague as to what was actually happening with the parcel. A quick check on Google revealed this website that shows the Australian agent as Australia Post, and a link to a more detailed tracking of the parcel. If I had not followed-up, the parcel would have just sat awaiting collection indefinitely.

This is by far the most useful resource for Parcelforce tracking – epic fail for the company.

  • Ryan says:

3 items purchased off ebay, all from the same seller, all picked up from him to be delivered to 2 different addresses, 2 items to one address and 1 item to the other address.

Well 2 of the items arrived on time after a second delivery attempt as the driver thought the house it was being delivered too was not lived in lol he never even attempted to put a card through the door.

My Item is still sitting somewhere in coventrys hub, they still don’t know when i will be recieving the parcel even though its been paid for

  • Ann says:

    Hi all
I can’t help but laugh in my hysterical despair and the ineptitude of Parcel Force after reading all your comments my problem seems very minor compared to previous posters.

I just can not contact a “real person” to query VAT charged on imported magazines which I assumed to be 0% vat rated?

However on telephoning the number provided on the contact letter provided by Parcel Force it is merely a recorded message that is 95% engaged .I then tried using the email contact details provided and duly requested clarification of the import VAT charges 24 hours later I received an email in response to mine stating that the “email service was no longer in use” interestingly had it been automated the email would have immediatley arrived in my messagebox almost upon sending my email, but it took 24 hours for someone obviously to send out what was supposed to be an automated reply.
So it seems that parcel force do not employ intelligent people with language skills only those who hide behind what Little Britains character repeats “computer say’s no”.

  • Paul says:

These Arseholes are keeping goods i sent from overseas randsom unless i pay 40% tax. These are my goods that i bought in the UK and had to send back from overseas as i had no room in my bag.

I explained this but they didn’t care. Fill out a form if you have a complaint!
Do not use these idiots! I never will – problem is i didn’t even have a choice from overseas!!!

    Crooks!!!

  • Chris says:

    Paul

Under the Postal Services Act 2000 section 104 it is illegal to hold a postal package in “virtue of a lien” (ie the carrier can’t say “We paid your customs bill (which you didn’t as us to) so pay us £x for our services or we’ll keep your package”.

Parcel Force, who handle most packages coming into the UK in the general mail, are guilty of this. Other carriers, Like UPS, Fedex etc. will pay the customs charges, deliver your package and invoice you for the handling fee – as they should.

So there have been a number of people arguing with Parcel Force, quoting the Postal Act and having the fees waived. Won’t help with those carriers that operate by invoice, but an interesting talking point nonetheless.

Thought you might find this information intresting. Good luck

I ordered some health stuff on-line which came to roughy £200. When this arrived in the UK it was being held by Parcel Force and an import charge was payable. Import duty: £33.37, V.A.T: £51.46, Clearance fee: £8.00, Total: £92.83. Is this right cos the parcel is about the size of a shoe box and I’ve never had to pay such a hefty charge. The charge is half the price of the package. I can’t even query as the letter from them said they are unable to enter into disputes. Will be checking out the Watchdog website to see if anyone else has the same problem. Just don’t seem right.

    May 2010 – ParcelFarce

Paid £44.00 + £10.00 insurance for 2 parcels weighing 26kgs and containing computer equipment. Parcels were extremely well wrapped, must have used 10+ metres of bubble wrap, polystyrene packaging chips and air filled bags – was totally OTT.

Believe it or not they were collected and delivered on time, however, the packages arrived looking like they’d been used as footballs. Computer case dented, hard disks, cpu cooler, graphics card all dislodged and floating around inside the case (That’s one hell of knock). Monitor in separate box was cracked and it looked like the box had been opened and resealed as if someone fancied the contents for themselves, realised it wasnt a brand new computer and left it.

I phoned to complain (08448 004466) and to query how I would go about claiming the £500.00 compensation for a replacement PC and the woman I was speaking to just hung up on me.

I’m f**king livid (understatement of the year) and I’m going to get a replacement PC from these f**ks even if kills me.

  • Elaine says:

Please do not even get me started. Every single experience I’ve had with Parcelforce has been pleasant UNTIL — UNTIL !!!!! — it comes to the lying, thieving drivers!

They do not attempt to make a delivery – unless you want to call leaving a sticky note on a door an attempt – and they then dump your package at a local post office.

This is, of course, the behavior of a lazy thief. But try contacting anyone to complain! They have a whole MAFIA of staff passing the buck so there is no straight answer to be gotten!

I hope and pray with all my heart that ANOTHER COMPANY starts up and takes the (stolen!) money from these knaves called Parcelforce.

They are thieves, simply and honestly put. Nothing but thieves and liars!

  • Elaine says:

    Big P.S.:

We should all encourage NEW DELIVERY COMPANIES to start up and we should all boycott Parcelforce if at all possible since Parcelforce DOES NOT CARE how we are treated – although we PAY FOR THEIR SERVICES! That is just flat out EVIL!

They do not hold their employees to account! They don’t CARE. So I assume the manager has a line of coke on his desk and can’t be bothered with mundane things like customer service! They’re a bunch of lying, lazy rip-offs. They refuse to do their jobs. Yet they are surely PAID for it! Because of their lack of business ethics, it is COMPLETELY WRONG that they are even allowed to remain in business as a major delivery company.

I just wanna post this to give some hope to people reading this page and wish u a similar or better experience with parcelforce (farce).

Send my parcel on the 9th August 2010, it is now the 26th of August and I have been informed that my parcel is in the internation hub in Coventry, so it has taken nearly three weeks to get from Burnley Lancs to Coventry. I wonder how long it will take from there to Tenerife, if it gets there at all. Send a parcel on the 14th August but not my parcel force and that has been delivered already. Last time I will send anything by Parcel Post.

Ordered a spare part for my car from UK via Internet, the idiots sent the part with Parcelforce, two weeks later I am still waiting, and all reply I get from Parcelforce is that they are sorry that my parcel has not been delivered on time, and they are sure the local agent will try their utmost to deliver the parcel. They do not provide the name of the local agent nor do they provide a telephone number or website address of the agent. Utterly useless and incompetent. Fcuk Pareclforce. I love DHL.

I work for Parcelforce, maybe if some of you idiots would check you have correct addresses, postcodes etcetera on parcels then you would not have to sit on your fat lazy asses all day as we would get parcels to you in the required timeframe. our first time delivery success rate at my depot is over 98%. Try it some time, 100 drops a day !!! Maybne you are too busy playing nintendo or x box

  • Enrico says:

I used Parcelforce only once I now I know it is officially the WORST COURIER IN BRITAIN! With the dumbest employees (all of them) who they might be dropping 100 parcels per day but to the floor and damage the content! That’s what happened to me when the parcel was wrongly labelled (by Pforce of course!) and attempted deliver to the wrong address twice although I was on the phone trying to tell them the address they had was WRONG! Then the adressee had to go and pick it up herself at the Depot and she found out the parcel was very badly damaged and so the content. The funny thing is they can’t send it back to me as the package is damaged! Obviously you cannot download the claim form from their website as down!

  • Dean says:

Parcelforce express 24 is a fraudulent service. It gives you a delivery date and states “if we miss the delivery date you are entitled to a 50% refund”. I had a parcel sent out on Tuesday, it is now Saturday and they have not delivered and will not offer a refund.
Typical service from the English Sheep Shaggers, sadly what else would you expect from the English limeys. English cowards.

When they ask for you to speak the tracking number, they kept reading mine back to me incorrectly. Just reply “NO” 3-4 Times and you can speak to a human.

  • Gav says:

    285. Dean, not sure it’s them being English is the problem – Just thought I’d throw that out there!

My parcel got to England from Japan via airmail in 4 days, now Parcelforce where only responsible for it for the last part of the journey – Gatwick to Brighton – and guess what? They’ve cocked it up!

After paying their extortionate ‘clearance fee’ as well as customs charges, the tracker just says ‘held – awaiting payment of charges’, and has for about a week, was supposed to be delivered on the 8th.

Phoned and emailed – Staff are unhelpful and clueless, leave you with empty promises of contacting you with more info.

It’s absolutley astonishing that a company like this is still used, if my company provides a bad service, we lose business, simple. With this thread of negative feedback and complaints dating back 5 years as an example of their incompetence, and they’re still in business…

I literally pass my package every day on the train commuting to London – but obviously they’re not open outside of office hours for me to pick it up on the way home!

Seriously avoid Parcelforce. I am not using them by choice, but I will always enquire from now on who my package will be delivered with, and not bother wasting my money if Parcelforce is the response I get.

  • Gav says:

Another thing – I’m also expecting another parcel, which was sent out from Japan on Monday 13th Dec via. FEDEX.

I had a query about customs charges and wether the weather would affect my expected delivery date of tomorrow (that’s right, japan to my front door in 4 days). Within about 2 hours of submitting my query through their nice website, a friendly english man (not outsourced callcentre) phones me up kindly explaining everything to me I wanted to know and that I should expect my package tomorrow with no problems. And the charges are more resonable than Parcelforce’s.

Nuff said. FEDEX will get my business again, purely bsed on their customer service. (Just hope my package arrives tomorrow then I’ll truly have nothing bad to say about them at all!)

  • Edd says:

After being held for over an hour yesterday and not managing to speak to a single human being, I followed some of your advices here and did manage to speak to someone today, only to get more pissed off with their lack of customer service trainng and consideration for a fellow human being in trouble. I was told by one of their customer service agents that “if you think you can do a better job then maybe you should come down here” or “maybe you should go to coventry yourself and pick up your parcel”. All I wanted from her was a helping hand on contacting their office up there and seeing if this could get cleared a bit faster since I need this parcel by this weekend. She told me I should use another company next time (which sure as hell I will!!!).

Absolutely criminal what they are doing to customers. Who the hell regulates this company and why are they allowed to continue in business with this type of service? I believe I was misled by their information and yet nothing I can do!

Tracking said out for delivery, sure enough it didnt arrive by 4pm, was on the phone to make sure it was still coming, was on hold from 4pm until they closed at 7pm nobody answered the call, they obviously just went home at that point and closed the phone lines.
Still held for another 30mins with no joy, hung up and redialled, got an automated message saying they were now closed!

Saturday morning I called the leeds depot (depot where tracking showed it had left) they assured me it would be with me Saturday (thought this was strange because I didnt think they delivered weekends).
Laptop didnt arrive again, have been assured it will be with me today (Sunday!) only to find out the depot isnt open sundays.
I wait in hope of a monday delivery…
If only they wouldnt lie and just be honest to their customers

Global Express from UK to Thailand – supposed to take 2 days and cost £60. Was only sending a debit card.

Well it was sent wednesday lunchtime and its now monday night here. The tracking details online make no sense – it was put on a plane to china before it was collected from the sender etc.

Now it has been ‘out for delivery’ from a hub 600 miles away all day.

Cant contact parcelforce from abroad, all the numbers say (there is a fault)

    fucking useless.

Been sitting in doors on holiday since friday waiting for the delivery.

I work for parcelforce worldwide. half the problem we have in trying to find houses is a lot of houses do not display their name or number so it can be seen. did you know its a criminal offence not to display it?? if your house is on fire, the brigade will follow the smoke, if you need an ambulance, well lets say you would be waiting for a long time. we work hard to deliver parcels. i work 14hrs a day and all it takes is not being able to find a house and then there is a knock on effect for the rest of the day. so please make sure your house can be found.

  • chill says:

gm,,,are you saying that once in a street if you cant find the correct house you give up, it dont take a rocket scientist to work out which house is which. Its hardly the most difficult task. Youve just come up with a poor excuse. And as for the fire service following the smoke???? its not always a fire that we’re attending,,but we always get there and get there promptly,, yes we!!

  • gm says:

thats proberbly because people are standing waving at you when you turn into the street. we dont get that. 200 houses in a street. some with numbers, some with names, some with nothing. what i was talking about was the rural areas. have you had a look in your rural areas? just keep in mind, parcelforce dont go on strike like the fire service do.

  • Mariane says:

i thought parcelforce were part of royal mail? im sure theyve been on strike recently.

ive had no problems with UPS or DHL but terrible trouble with parcelforce.

parcelforce employees will receive no sympathy on here so looking to make poor excuses and insult the emergency services just makes you look even more desperate.

you spoke about rural areas, but what about all the parcels lost bound for our towns and citys?

the very fact that its so difficult to actually speak to someone at parcelforce when we ring just highlights what chill said. your incompetent from top to bottom.

  • Awesome says:

Just found this site, after having ordered something from a (UK Based) company who use parceforce as couriers, now I’m quite worried!
I got an email through yesterday at around about 3pm telling me the item had been dispatched and on it’s way via their express 24 service. I tracked the item later on in the day to find that the item was at the company’s local depot. Assuming that all was well I manages to take the day off so I was home when it arrived… It didn’t! I tracked the parcel again only to find that the latest entry was 10 to 7 in the morning confirming that is was at the national depot and it had been processed. I’ve been constantly checking all day with no updates! It’s now just gone midnight and still no update. So my parcel has just been sat at the national depot all day even though it’s meant to have been sent with their seemingly bullshit express 24 service!
I mean it could well come tomorrow which I won’t be too bothered about but by the seems of some of the comments on here, I’m not going to hold my breath.

  • Drake says:

I’ve just found the site too while trying to find someone to talk to at Parcel Force instead of their automated services. My parcel had been hanging in the depot for about a day or two now according to the tracking system on their website, so I was quite worried as to when my parcel would come seeing as I start work again Monday. After finally getting through to someone I was spoken down to and told that my package would possibly arrive in 3 days time. As if I wasn’t annoyed already that my parcel was so late but to be spoken to like that has made this the last time I will be using Parcel Force. Save yourself the money, time and lecture.

Why have the parcels not moved in days?
I managed to speak to somebody at Parcelforce who could provide no answer, and managed to fob me off to the Leicester depot. They had not received the parcels and suggested it could be the Post Offices mistake giving them to Royal Mail and not Parcelforce.

    What do i do?

  • Megan says:

    Parcelforce suck. End of.
I had a £100 pair of shoes “delivered” by them. They first of all, delivered it two days later than they said. Then they put one of their delivery cards in, as they delivered at 11.00 and I’m sorry but how many working people are in at that time anyway. Instead of taking it down the post office (would have been fine then) they took it all the way back to the depot and said they’d deliver again tomorrow.
We tried ringing for hours to get them to redeliver to the post office (if we’re not in at 11.00 one day, why would be the next?!) but it’s all machines and when they redirect you to the ‘depot’ it just cuts off.
I managed to get them to send it to the post office over the internet, but the webpage never actually confirmed whether it had worked or not and their tracking page said it was being redelivered. So I assumed they hadn’t got my post office request and were going to come back to the house as planned. I stayed in all day to avoid them taking it back again.
They did in fact get my post office request and it’s now at the post office (which annoyingly is closed so I have to wait ANOTHER day to get my parcel) Yeah, thanks for letting me know you were taking it to the post office Parcelforce! Ugh.
Total lack of communication, stupid delivery times, stupid phone lines. Could have driven down to Brighton and brought my item from the actual shop with less hassle than using Parcelforce.

  • Jeff says:

Perhaps I will later post the details of my experience with Parcelforce after it’s resolved, but will say now that my experience with this company has been just as described by most of the others who have posted here. I spoke to a woman at the Birmingham South Depot, and one in Customer Service who were both polite and attempted to help, but overall, this company’s performance is a case of failure. With competition from much better companies such as UPS, FedEx, et al, I’ve become certain that they only remain in business because they appear to have lower rates. However, after my first experience with them, I will never use them again, but will pay a higher rate for the efficiency and courtesy provided by their competitors. Do they receive some form of government subsidy, and/or do they derive additional income from stealing and selling the contents of a percentage of the packages that they process each year? ;-)

  • gm says:

Parcelforce is part of the royal mail group, however, we were not involved in the industrial action. we crossed the picket lines to carry on with deliverys and collections.

  • Link says:

A$$holeForce really need to osrt their atrocious service(s) out. Goods leaving or entering the country just disappear into a black hole of non-communication, you are left completely in the dark as to what is going on and as to exactly what it is you have paid hard earned cash for.

Items sent via USPS from the US get routed through A$$holeForce automatically, you have no say in this. That’s when the fun begins. You can sit clicking day after day lookung at the current ‘Status’ but it doesn’t really mean anything whatsoever. The last three items that have arrived from the US have just sat there, no communication, nothing… ‘I’ have had to, by means fair or foul, contact ‘THEM’ to find out ‘WHERE’ my package is and ‘WHAT’ I have to do to actually take posession of items that ‘I’ actually own!

Each time I have, eventually, tracked someone down and asked the simple question… ‘Are there any duties to pay’ to which each time I have been informed.. ‘Yes! That is probably why it has been delayed!!’ No $hit Sherlock!? I then inform them that I have this abstract and quite wacky idea that it could, possibly, be an idea to inform customers that this is the case so that 1) They get to recieve ‘THEIR’ property, 2) A$$holeForce get more space to cram with goodies to collect ever more duties as they appear to be modern day tax collecters as they certainly aren’t a haf-way decent courier company and 3) we can all just get on with our lives. Crazy I know.

But of course this won’t happen because goodies going in and out of the country are big business and each item has more value as a vessel for revenue for both Government and A$$holeForce than it ever will have as a, uh, hmmm… A package that has been paid for to be delivered to a specific destination within a reasonable amount of time perhaps?

A truly terrible company with no intention of providing what would be classed as a reasonable service both delivery and communication wise in the 21st century. Many sellers from abroad won’t touch the UK with a bargepole using service which mean they will hit A$$holeForce somewhere along the line.

  • Hopping Mad says:

Paid through the nose for pre-9.00 delivery as I have a really busy day ahead of me. 9.30 – no show. Checked on the tracking record – had tried to deliver at 8.45. Really? I was sitting by the front door from 8.00. I would have heard the van draw up and someone outside the door. But nobody called and what is more, no card through the door. So either the computer system is faulty or this is an outright lie. But whatever the cause, I am out of pocket, hugely inconvenienced, and the contents of the parcel are perishable …

  • ELVIS says:

I regularly use ParcelForce ( 3 or 4 times a week) for low value items posted to UK addresses. All items are collected by Parcel Force.

In the last 6 weeks , 80% of collections are buggered up!! Its simple , i print the docket out , attach it to parcel , driver collects.

HELL NO! Sometimes i can book for multiple collections but driver only has details on his hand held scanner to collect 2 out of the 3 parcels. A few times they have turned up to collect Parcels that were collected the day before, same docket numbers etc .

I have booked for multiple collections for a specified date/day and driver has only collected half and told me ‘other lot will probably be on tomorrows job sheet’. ‘can you not take em now?’ ‘sorry mate, not on job sheet’. I then drive 30 mins to local depot to drop them off and they happliy take them over the counter.

After having so many problems i ahve gone to local depot and they will happily take them over the counter.So………….

I have started taking them to the depot at 9am on way to work. they scan docket and take parcel. All god? PPPpppffffffff Driver still comes to the unit in the afternoon to collect them.

I honestly believe Parcel Force could f**k up the unf**kable!

  • ELVIS says:

Just to add to the above after reading Megans comment at #10.

I have to admit one fault!! I was not in onnce when they tried to collect. I was left a Parcelforce card to arrange a new collection date.

On the card it clearly tells me the various ways i can do it, one option is via the website. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DO ON THE INTERNET!! There is not even a page/option to do it once you log in. Using the the search bar i typed in ‘rearrange collection’ and there are NO matches.

    WELL DONE PARCELFORCE!!

  • ELVIS says:

Parcel Force are idiots and i will never use this company ever again i have paid a lot of money for the express24 service they were meant to collect a parcel from Romford and Deliver to Wolverhampton the parcel should have been collected yesterday between 14.30pm – 17.30pm i called at 17.15pm to ask if they would still be collecting before the 17.30pm only to be told that the driver had already gone home!!!! so hey why give me a time slot till 17.30pm if the driver went home before that time????? it was meant to be delivered to Wolverhampton today as it was not even collected i called and was passed to various departments costing me about £8.00 in phone calls as i was using a mobile i got to speak to someone in collections not helpful at all i asked to speak to a manager and was advised he would call me back i then had to wait over 2 hours for his call and he said that he was sorry which is not good enough for me and he said that he would arrange for collection of the parcel for today between 1pm – 3pm i agreed to this and explained that no one would be at the collection address until about 12.30pm he said that’s fine…………..so what do they do go to try and collect this morning at 11am………what a f…ing joke they are and i called to complain and i am still waiting for the manager to call me back they took my f…ing money quick enough and i have not had the service that i paid for but i will be taking this further even if it ends up in court how dare they take peoples money guaranteeing a service that they can not provide its a shambles i would NOT recommend Parcel Force and hope that if your thinking of using them please think again and use someone else as this has been a nightmare from the off.

i deal with manufacturers in the u.s quite regularly that ship out using usps and eventually parcelforce when the items arrive in this country. i have found that i have had more problems with items that i paid for express delivery on. the ones that i have not paid for the express delivery have 100percent of the time gotten to me quicker than if i had paid the extra for premium delivery. is this proof of parcel force holding us to ransom when they know we need our belongings and they are the ones with the keys so to speak? i think so. i am currently waiting for a delivery that i have just had to pay customs charges on. no more express delivery for me as i think it just highlights cases in which they can make more money unfairly out of us.

I ordered a parcel from the states with the ‘USPS International Express Mail’ service which takes 3-5 Days not working days to get to me in the UK. Parcel was held in customs for 4 of these 5 days and I rang ParcelForce to be told ‘Its still with customs’ I ring customs and they say ‘We handed it over to ParcelForce last night.’ In the UK the Express Mail becomes Express 24 which I paid over £40 for and now ParcelForce refuse to repay my postage for my late package or pay the customs charge THEY put on my package. VAT only cost me £13 and ParcelForce (according to customs) put on a charge of £13.50 for their trouble. I spoke to their ‘Manageing Director’ and was put through to their ‘team’ because he is away. All they did was say ‘I misunderstood the delivery etc.’ They were so damn rude eventhough they have pretty much lost my package and I want compensation for all the money I paid to get this item as a gift for my friend.

Ofcourse now I have to wait for their pissing letter telling me to pay customs before I can get my package which will take another week or so. Express 24 my ass!

How the hell does this company continue to trade.

I thought I was alone in my struggle but have taken great comfort in finding this thread. To read so many similar tales of woe has lifted by heart somewhat.

I seem to have encountered a delivery operative that doesn’t drive a big red Iveco van but indeed some kind of time machine that enables said operative to travel through time to attempt to deliver while nobody was home, funny when you bare in mind I was actually scared to P at one point today in case I missed them. Oh and to top it all the fibbing bleeder that ‘advised addressee to collect from the post office’ can’t possibly have done so as no ‘calling card’ was left.

Oh, and to top it all it’s a bank holiday weekend now so chances of me getting my delivery…slim to none. I just hope delivery monkey got home in time to enjoy his weekend rather than completing his round.

  • PARCEL FORCE WEEKEND DELIVERY SCAM!!!!

Over the last 6 years I’ve had many ebay deliveries from the USA that required me to pay customs charges.

On every single occasion (at least 20 times),
regardless of what day of the week my parcel arrives into UK Customs, even if it’s a Saturday,
I always have to wait for my ‘customs bill’ from Parcelforce until the following FRIDAY (ALWAYS THE FOLLOWING FRIDAY)- which then states that my item wont be delivered until the FOLLOWING WEEK AFTER THAT! (regardless of how promptly my ‘customs bill’ payment is made)

But like ‘the knights in shining armour’ that parcel force are, for a mere £12, they kindly offer a SATURDAY delivery service. How convenient!

I hope everybody can see the scam here.

-Parcel force always delay issuing ‘customs bills’ until the following Friday, knowing that once it’s paid, the item won’t be delivered until the following week.
The eagerly awaiting customer has then been granted the option of either waiting even longer for their delivery, or forking out more cash!

Just imagine how much money they’re fleecing from the British public by doing this!

I HATE BEEING MANIPULATED IN THIS WAY!

    THIS IS DAYLIGHT ROBBERY!

    reposted from Chris Carline:

My wife is Japanese. Her mother who is in Japan sends her parcels regularly. She goes to the post office and sends them off.
When they get to England, they are supposed to be delivered by Parcelforce.
We have had so many headaches with Parcelforce now, that I will quote this company in divorce proceedings!
The last parcel was supposed to have been delivered to my address but failed according to them. They didn’t leave a note. Most times a letter arrives through the post to tell me there was nobody at home – Why they send it through the post when the driver was right here, is another question I don’t know the answer to(!). I was at home all day long.
I asked for a redelivery to the same address. Two days later it still didn’t come and they said there was nobody at home AGAIN.
They then returned it from the local depot – North West London – to “the Hub”. That means they are intending to send it back to the sender: my mother-in-law in Japan!
I rang up to stop them.
They put a block on the parcel at “the Hub”. It worked, according to the lady on the phone. At this point I am ringing up every single day on their Xp pay-per-minute phone number, they said: “Don’t worry, it has been stopped at the hub. It should be with you in 2 days time.”
A week later and no parcel shows up. I ring yet again and to my utter disgust it had left “the Hub” and been sent to North London depot. From there it had been sent back to “the Hub” YET AGAIN and dispatched to Japan!! by sea!! It should arrive in Japan in about 2 months according to the brainless idiot on the phone!

I really don’t know how such a collection of utter cretins can survive in this world.
Just about every single parcel that gets sent from Japan manages to have some problem or another. I suspect that my home address is on the edge of the driver’s run, so it conveniently gets left out.
Just now, another parcel was supposed to have been delivered after filling in the web form yet again (I’m fed up with paying their chargeable line number). It didn’t come, and I rang the number to complain yet again. The lady says it wasn’t at the depot, but has been sent to the dreaded HUB! She says she has stopped it and it will be at my house tomorrow, after me threatening her with court action.
How can their lying web form say it will be sent to me the next day AND GIVES ME A CONFIRMATION NUMBER, then the next day when I ring up, the operator sdays it wasn’t delivered because it isn’t in the depot, but has been sent to the International Hub???

I told my wife that from now on, I refuse to have anything to do with problems caused by PARCELFORCE. Her mother can use DHL, Federal Express, Pidgeon Post or send it by camel, but I flatly refuse point blank to be involved with ParcelForce. My blood pressure can’t handle it!!! I hope my mother-In-Law gets the message! Useless – useless – useless.
If you value your sanity, don’t ever use Parcel Force!

    ————————

I wrote yesterday about PF not delivering when they said they would, having waited all day yesterday yet again. When I rang, the lady on the phone promised (more than once when I told her how much agro they had put me through) that the parcel would come today, and that she had stopped it from going to the hub.
    Guess what?
    It HASN@T COME TODAY EITHER!!!
I told my Mrs that I refuse to talk to the bar-steward morons ever again, so she will have to sort it. Trouble is she hardly speaks English.
She is just wandering around the flat muttering Par-su-ru-for-su non stop.

I would wager a tenner it is winging its way – or should that be steaming its way – back to Japan on a slow boat again. This company is the worst outfit… why the hell doesn’t it go spectacularly bust and
do us all a favor once and for all???

    PARCEL FORCE… PLEAE DIE!!!!!!!!!!
    —————-
Since they have lost parcels, sent parcels back to Japan, forced me to spend hours on their damned pay-per-minute phone, accused me of not being at home and brought my wife to tears on more than one occasion and refuse to pay any compensation, I am going to tell the whole Internet Community to Never Use Parcel Force and explain why!
The are Carcuncles on the Backside of Humanity. They are ruining my life with their crap service.
They get used because all over the world, ordinary folks think that if they want to send a small parcel to someone in a different country, that they should go their local post office. In Japan, that is a good idea. Once it gets to good old England, PF get their hands on it and everything goes pear shaped!

In case you are wondering, I don’t work for any other courier company and the sole reason for this long rant is that they have screwed me time and time and time again, and I am monumentally fed up with it, and not having any way of being compensated. The board owners have my emaiol address and I would love to fill in the PF management with any information they may need.

    DONT USE PARCEL FORCE!!!! *EVER!!!*

  • Graham says:

I sent some urgent documents to Brazil from the post office using 3-day ‘guaranteed’ global express, then found this blog and started to worry. However the parcel tracking showed it getting to Brazil within 2 working days (they’ve also had the weekend in their favour).

But it was too good to be true. I thought it strange when the status changed to “loaded to vehicle for delivery” when it was still located at the international hub more than 300 miles from the destination. Now it’s changed to “held”, with the excuse of an address problem requiring senders instructions. I’ll bet no-one even calls me. The address and postal code is written on the envelope AND on the shipping docket and I’ve used it countless times for non-critical documents where the Brazilian postal service would have handled final delivery. I can only assume they have to select which excuse to make up for missing the deadline, because this service is supposed to have a 100% money-back guarantee. Since it was only documents it wasn’t held up by customs, so they’ve have to think of something else.

Please privatise them and let them die!

  • Graham says:

UPDATE: OK, not as bad as I thought. After hardly sleeping last night (because these are really important, stamped, certified original documents that I can’t replace in time if they go astray), I looked up their 0844 number on saynoto0870.com, but when I tried the first geographic number, for ‘tracking’, it was just a voice robot that gave the same useless info as the website tracking. I tried another number, for head office(01908 687000), and they put me through to “International”. I was only on hold a minute then spoke to someone. When I gave them the details I was RELIEVED to find that they don’t operate in Brazil and they are partnered with FedEx. They gave me the corresponding tracking number for FedEx, on whose tracking website it showed the true status in about 3 times more detail. It was simply that there was no-one at the address on their first attempt to call (ParcelFarce called this an “address problem”, like the address was invalid or something). It also showed that the package really was already at the local depot (including when it arrived there), not at the international hub more than 300 miles away according to ParcelFarce. It was not on hold “requiring sender’s instructions”, it was simply back at the depot awaiting a second delivery attempt today.

So this doesn’t really vindicate Parcel Force, the tracking info is useless and made me lose sleep with worry, but at least I was able to get through to someone to find out what was really going on. Maybe this wouldn’t have been the case if Parcel Force was in Brazil. The rest of the story is in FedEx’s hands now.

For info in case anyone finds it useful: FedEx Brazil is +55 11 2169 7000, or 0800 7033339 from the UK

It’s been a week or so now and my most expensive package
has not yet been delivered. My package cost 15,000yen plus the
2,400yen PP so in total that cost me like 160-170pounds…
I have used EMS/Parcelforce quite a few times this year
and never had any problems until now. Everything that I
ordered has been delivered including the packages sent later
than the one above probably cause everything was under 100pounds.
Why did it take like 5days to reach the International Hub
    and awaiting customs clearing?
I used EMS which is payed upfront and I didn’t buy anything
that exceed more than 20,000yen after that you do get charged
    with customs fees.

“Awaiting Payment Charges” what exactly does that mean?
Do I have to pay customs charges or something?
It seems no one has an answer for that question.

Hope it arrives safely in the next few days. I have had to
wake up early this past week cause Parcelforce worker that delivers on this route waits at the door for 20-30 seconds and leaves.Plus there is never a fixed time that they deliver…Last week all the delivery times were different.

  • Elaine says:

I am expecting a package via Parcel Force today. I use the online tracking, which says “Loaded to vehicle for delivery.”

This is not useful to a customer like me because I have no idea whether I should infer that the vehicle is sat at the depot or seconds away frmo my house. WHY oh WHY don;t these people show a full list of statuses with a tick next to the current one???

Anyway, I reached kingofmycastle trying to google whether there is a stage after “Loaded to vehicle” and it sems that there is. So thanks blog commenters for providing info Parcel Force does not. lol.

I thought I’d post here ni the interests of fairness. My parcel hasn’t arrived yet, but it’s not late yet either. If it doesn’t arrive today then I’ll add a post calling Parcel Force gits. And out of fairness, if it DOES arrive on time (which, reading this page, doesn’t seem likely) I’ll add a post acknowledging this.

    Over to you Parcel Force…

  • Elaine says:

It arrived. Feel almost disappointed, lol.

It looks like iI am not alone then. I am trying to get thru to the holding depot and the phone number 08708501150 IS NO LONGER IN USE.
I do have a number from the past which is direct (01162872000)but there is no answer at 17,00 hours on Friday so I must assume they have all gone home. I am assuming that they have sent me a snail mail to inform me of the charges Payable?
My Parcel left the USA on 29th June by USPS EXPRESS DELIVERY AIR.. Tracking E-mail 08/07/2011 informs me that it is being held for charges in UK but not where. After going down to my local sorting and getting a lot of help from a worker I have got the new Tracking number for Parcel Farce. Trouble is I can not do anything with it now.
Funny bit is that the stuff I ordered from Amazon on the 6th and was told 5 days is here upon my return from my local sorting trip.
You got to laugh don’t you???????
    Cheers Chris.

Banging, so the items I paid an ADDITIONAL £18 to arrive on a specific day (Saturday 27-08-2011) simply didn’t show, no card, no contact.
Today is Tuesday. I have to go to work now. If my package gets delivered today I will miss it and it will return to depot.

Tried to call them but they only work “office hours” also emailed them to no response.

  • Parcel Force are shit.

Not only did Parcel Force fail to deliver 2 parcels on the day Amazon Prime managed to deliver (I was at home all day), they left one at a post office miles away from my local post office and the other at a their depot near the god damn Thames Barrier (I live in zone 1).

Having been informed that my parcel was at the depot and after confirming by phone, I went to the depot. Once I arrived, I was told that no, the parcel wasn’t at the depot, it was still in the owner/operators van (who was off that day)!!!!!!

Now, it’s the Monday and having been assured twice that it will be delivered today, I am still waiting on delivery. It’s 3pm so not looking good…

Parcel Force are a bunch of incompetent wankers!

  • Tracy says:

I worked for Parcelforce for 22 years and I was very proud to work for a company that I felt improved in customer service and delivery targets year in year out. However reading the comments and your experiences leaves me feeling sad that they are failing to such a degree. I can’t speak for all Parcelforce employees but for myself when ever received a complaint I did everything to correct . I disagree with the automated telephone system and the personal touch was far more professional. Believe me like in all walks of life there are good and bad employees those that will go above and beyond and those that just turn up. Sometimes it’s the restrictions and new ways that are I implemented that stop a good employee from helping the customer -you. it’s just not the same company I thoughtitwas going to be.

  • Austin Back says:

I ordered and paid for some stock to come over from the USA on 1st Oct. 10 days later I enquired if they had sent them yet, their UPS courier handed it over to parcelforce on it’s arrival in the UK.
According to the usa coureir’s site there was an attempted delivery on the 10th Oct at 3.17pm which is untrue as I was here all day and work from home, no card, nothing.
After several failed attempts to track the parcel down and get through on the phone I resorted to emails.I got a few back each one contradicting the previous one!
They just kept saying I needed to pay customs for it and I need to ring them with my 17 digit ref num,ber to be able to pay, I could also go and get it if I had this letter with the 17 digit number on it however no one had sent me a damn 17 digit code so I couldn’t pay for the parcel to be delivered!
The parcel is 48 hour EXPRESS, now 23 days later I still have not got my parcel and have tried numerous times to pay customs for it.
Latest episode today involved,I managed after numerous emails backwards and forwards, to ring and actually get hold of a human being at the Mitcham depot instead of the multi choice menu.
I had phoned them as parcel force customer services had told me to do so to get this 17 digit code that I needed to be able to pay customs. The customer services had asked me via email to confirm who I was at lesast twice before they gave me the code even though it had all my details on the emails I was sending them only to be told to ring them anyway.
Now, the guy at Mitcham said, no we can’t give you the 17 digit code, we don’t issue that out, you should have had notification from http://www.hmrc.gov.uk so try there.
I rang hmrc today and guess what, no, they don’t issue out the 17 digit code needed to be able to pay the customs duty owed (£31.26) parcel force are responsible for the issueing out of these codes!
    ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!
I have also had another email back from parcelforce yesterday AFTER the emails telling me they can’t help me and to ring their depot for this blasted code I need saying that due to technical errors (their co*k up ) they can’t issue out the code!
They said that one of their team would ring me from the depot within 24 hours, LOL, as they can’t organise a pee up in a brewery I seriously doubt they will ring me.So,I am no nearer to getting my parcel and today when the HMRC guy looked the parcel up for me, he said that they have only registered it as arriving in this country as from today, when infact it has been over here since 10th October,at least.
I really don’t think I am going to get this parcel and who to complain to as no one seems to care or can do anything about it, parcel force are totally incompetent, they’ve either had it there nad sat on it and can’t be bothered to sort it , or it’s been nicked or lost. This parcel is 48 hour express delivery and here I am 23 days later and no nearer to receiving it!
    Any suggestions greatfully received!

    Fed up in Caterham.

FINALLY I received my 17 digit code this morning, only because I threatened to sue them if they didn’t send it to me. The invoice is dated as of the 2nd Nov when in theory the parcel arrived in the UK yet in reality and I have proof in writing of this, the parcel arrived in the UK on the 10th October or just before. Does anyone on here know if trading standards or the office of fair trading can or will do anything about parcel force?
Anyone on here work for either of these 2 bodies?
Or are they just all mouth and no trousers, being there so we can complain yet actually have very little powers or are unwilling to act?
I want to take this further and get it fully investigated as I was lied to on numerous occasions and by looking at this forum it has been going on for years, can’t we all group together and try to stop parcel force, how are they still allowed to trade?
If I did this with my business I simply wouldn’t be trading for long?
I still have to have the parcel delivered on Monday, see what state it’s in and if anything is missing or damaged.I will keep you posted,

  • MIKE S says:

    Hi All
I have been reading the Problems people have been having with Parcelforce uk and would like to add my story to the bunch. I now live in Crete Greece in retirement ( but mostly because I got p—-D off with company’s like Parcelforce ) anyway my daughter wanted my wife and I to have some nice presents to open at christmas this year and also it was my Wifes Sixtieth birthday on 28th dec so she made up a parcel and had it collected by parcelforce for EXPRESS delivery Ha! Ha!on the 19th Dec this service cost her in the region of 50 pounds, she was told by them it would be delivered here in greece on or around 22nd or 23rd dec at the latest! as you can guess nothing arrived! following the tracking system it showed it started off in Kent in England where it sat untouched for 24hrs, travelled to international hub and FIVE days later turned up back in Kent?? it is now apparently in Coventry depot and has been since 23rd Dec where we have been told it got put on a plane but taken off again because the plane was full? we have also been told it was in Greece before Christmas? despite sending numerous emails (only the first few were answered by auto service! and several attempts to contact by phone! head office number was on FAX all day on 28th dec the parcel is still in UK we think at coventry? it has been TEN days now and has NOT left the Uk yet! WHAT THE HELL ARE THESE PEOPLE DOING? reading some of the other delays on here I can see we could be in for a much longer delay! On the ParcelForce main web site it states that the customer satisfaction level is running at 96% I STRONGLY DISPUTE THESE FIGURES. I would like to malke a suggestion to you all, WHY don’t we all group together and contact the POLICE about this company who let their staff STEAL public mail/Parcels for their own gain? my wife’s birthday was totally ruined by these muppets as all our relatives live in the uk and were not able to visit her on her birthday ( and you only get one SIXTIETH in a lifetime )so the present was a rather special one. I am horrified that these people have been allowed to get away with this service ( if thats what they call it ) for so many years.

After losing our Christmas parcel from our family and lack of response from Parcel Force I can only conclude their Internatiol hub in Coventry
is treated like a giant supermarket by the employees. The more expensive the parcel appears the more likely it will be nicked and no one in management will care.
This situation MUST change as a company they are a disgrace.

  • Mitch says:

    Hi everyone,
Just thought I’d share my experience of parcel farce with you guys. I was basically waiting all day on friday 6th Jan, to take delivery of a Playstation 3. I knew it’d be delivered that day because the online tracking said it had been loaded onto the van the previous evening, ready to be delivered.
I was constantly glancing out of the window each time I heard a vehicle go past (we live on a very quiet, dead end road), and never saw the parcelforce van. It got to about 4:00 PM and I was getting a bit worried that the parcel might not arrive that day. Just to see if there was any update, I checked the online tracker again, to find it said it had been delivered! I clicked the ‘see proof of delivery’ and to my absolute shock, it had been signed ‘M. Cooper’… THAT’S ME! But it has no resemblance whatsoever to my signature! I’m so annoyed that Parcelfarce have left my PLAYSTATION 3 with some random person, at a different address.. that has signed for it in my name :/. I’ve had nothing through the door, nothing left outside, and no neighbours owning up to having the parcel, which is hardly surprising… you don’t force someone’s signature if you’re going to take them the parcel!
I’m so gutted.. parcelforce are no help.. they just said they’d get back to me! The PS3 was bought privately on ebay so I can’t really blame the seller, they did all they could do by posting it to my address.
Anyone have any suggestions on what I could do?
    Thanks.

  • mike S says:

    Yes mitch
Contact the POLICE! They can interview the driver and find out where he/she left the parcel it must be documented somewhere! This is clearly a case of theft and fraud. I know it sounds drastic but my experience of this awfull company coupled with research I have personally carried out proves without doubt that there are a lot of cases such as yours and I firmly believe there is culture of DISHONESTY in this firm. This sort of thing has happened to many many people over several years, and although parcelforce say they will cover the cost of lost goods they are very reluctant to prove how many cases actually get the money. I found the customer services to be UNHELPFULL/ARROGANT/RUDE and EVASIVE.

Made a big mistake of ordering from a company who use Parcelforce. Item needed on Tuesday for a birthday present on Wednesday. Delivery was promised for Saturday 7th April. It never arrived. Was told by company that they paid extra for it to be delivered on Saturday. They said it should be with me onTuesday. As you can see below, the item is still in National Hub, sitting around doing nothing by the looks of it. Funny thing about this is the third line down…parcel placed in secure container. The reference on that line is not my tracking number ,but looks like a tracking number. When you enter this into their tracking page, it comes up with item delivered Saturday, signed for at 7.30am by a name I have never heard of. WTF!!!!?? So was this my parcel? Repackaged at National Hub and given a new tracking number and presumably a new delivery address. Probably the address of someone at the National Hub. Nice little present for them…..brand new Iphone!
Can’t wait till tomorrow, Tuesday. Will be ringing phone company to say I have not received item, and can they refund me (ha,ha,ha,) then will ring Parcelforce and try and talk to a human to tell them what I think of their wonderful service. Bollocks to them!

Took them 10 hours to realise the Birmingham mistake. Parcelforce are owned by Royalmail and therefore the government so no wonder they suck so bad.

I’d avoid ebuyer.com, they are great to orderfrom but using parcelforce is just a cost cutting measure that totally ruined my experience with them. I hope they loose sales in future of this, and the other posts i’m gonna put on the internet so they change their courier provider.

I won’t bore you folks with the sorry tale of my 7day “next day” delivery, however on 14th June Parcelfarce agreed to pay for delivery cost plus £10 compensation in 5 -7 working days guess what…
    CORRECT!
No cheque has been raised; have to wait another 5-7 days
Let’s face it Parcel force can’t even deliver their own mail on time so what chance does Jo(e) public have?
    Avoid like the plague!

  • Lucy Jazmin says:

I packed a box myself whilst in China three weeks ago. Box contained 24 sample canvass dog bags, 3 pairs of my own shoes, five bags ( not counterfeit) as gifts. I paid £180 to send box it was 22 kilo’s. Customs charged another £102 although box stated samples. When the box arrived at my house after 10 days they had opened the box at customs and left a stanley knife inside the box plus 3 of the bags were damaged.
Pareclforce don’t want to accept any responsibilty and the e mails I have received address me with my christian name!. Dreadful service but what other choice when you are sending goods?.
