At least two people are being treated in hospital in Mexico City after a bull leapt into a crowd during a bullfight.

I made this for fellow blogger Gavin Ayling. The original bottom line should say “Support Israel”.

Here is a list of some Brighton pub opening times. I think we need to add The Windmill and The Hampton to that list (thanks to Gav for the link).
I’ve added the Saucy Panties blog to the blogroll on the left sidebar. This may not be safe for work!
And here’s a link to an interesting football story. Its a real Soccernet/ESPN page.
Want to know more about your surname? Well visit Spatial Literacy and it’ll draw a map of the UK showing the densities of your name. Looks like there’s lots of Kings in Hampshire for some reason.
Bored? Then take a little visit to HolyMoly.co.uk. It’s part of the Make Bono History Now Campaign. Probably work safe but uses a few rude words - oh!
Too many people on the planet? Is there a solution? Yes! Visit The Voluntary Human Extinction Movement and do your bit for the planet.
UPDATE: Just been sent this from Rich. Here’s his version:

Google Earth gets my vote for application of the decade. You can almost consider throwing away your atlases as Google Earth offers you the chance to move around and zoom in on anywhere on the Earth. The technology feels about 4 years ahead of its time. Free of charge you can download it here (now avaliable for Macs too).
And after browsing around a while I managed to find these interesting places (need Google Earth to run):
Area 51, USA.
Top Secret Saudi Arabian Airbase.
Wau Namus Caldera, Libya.
Lakehurst AirBase, USA.
City of God Favela, Rio, Brazil.
Monument Valley, USA.
It is weird being able to look at some of these places that you’re not supposed to know exist, and some people may put this information to a bad use, but overall I think this is an amazing learning tool I wish I had as a youngster.
Oh, and at last we can say that the BT Tower (Formally the Post Office Tower) in London actually exists. It’s was a national secret under the Official Secrets Act until the early 90’s.

Well that was an enjoyable double episode of Lost last night. And only a three month wait till series two. Its weird to think that, after 24 hours of television, all they have managed to do is open a hatch, have a baby, make a ship and vegetable patch. But for some reason its still rewarding TV. This might be due to the acting as I can’t think of one character, maybe apart from 2-ep Hans, who has been inconsistent.
I can’t get into Invasion though. Its just trying a bit too hard to be Lost, without any of the charm, and I wont be watching any more of it. I hope Channel 4 didn’t pay too much for it.
Much better is My Name Is Earl. I’ve already ‘previewed’, ahem, the first 10 episodes and they are all well written peices of fine comedy with just the right balance of clever and dumb to hit both funny bones.
Ofcom had a go at Channel 4 as it revealed that each 65-minute episode contained just 36 minutes of new footage. It really is annoying that the show gets broken up so much but at the end of the day I’d rather watch these extra ads than have to subscribe to Sky to see high quality US programming.
Oh and here’s a link to the interesting Lost trailer for Channel 4.

I’m so glad my sister bought me The Comic Strip Presents box set for Christmas. Thats over 26 hours worth. I’m still only on disc 2 but I’ve alreday seen, for the first time in 20 years, both the Five Go Mads, Bad News Tour, Dirty Movie and a Fistful of Travellers Cheques. I’ve still got Slags, Private Enterprise, The Strike, Mr Jolly Lives Next Door and GLC to come.
Looking at the transmission dates I must have been about 11 or 12 when most of these were shown but (unless they were repeated years later) my Dad used to let me stay up and watch them. Looking at them now I see the hundreds of jokes and adult themes I missed at the time. What I also realise is that these episodes are actually just short films, and have to be looked at as such. There are different styles of comedy and drama in each one, which is going to make watching all 9 DVDs much more entertaining.
Anyway, you can get this for £30 at Amazon.co.uk, which is a real bargain.

Well it looks like the crisp manufacturer Golden Wonder will be going into administration. This is mainly due to tough competition from it’s rival Walkers. Their expensive Gary Lineker advertising campaign seems to have won. It probably helped that Walkers are owned by Pepsi Co, who are worth $25 billion. The lesson from this is that if you plough most of your resources into the advertising campaign rather than your product the consumer, for some reason, is much happier.
It reminds me of when I worked for a multinational company who outsourced my job to a cheaper (on paper) offshore company. At the same time they paid an international sports star over $10 million to star in an advert. From what I could tell the product became worse but also more popular.
Anyway, say goodbye to these:
