This article from The Guardian is a very good read.
“Direct invasion of a sovereign state has never in fact been America’s favoured method. In the main, it has preferred what it has described as ‘low intensity conflict’. Low intensity conflict means that thousands of people die but slower than if you dropped a bomb on them in one fell swoop. It means that you infect the heart of the country, that you establish a malignant growth and watch the gangrene bloom. When the populace has been subdued - or beaten to death - the same thing - and your own friends, the military and the great corporations, sit comfortably in power, you go before the camera and say that democracy has prevailed”
“The United States now occupies 702 military installations throughout the world in 132 countries, with the honourable exception of Sweden, of course. We don’t quite know how they got there but they are there all right.”

KingOfMyCastle.com had some strange web stats last month. They said that human visitors had used up nearly half of my webspace but an Unknown robot (identified by ‘crawl’) had used up even more. These robots are created by companies like Google, Ask Jeeves and MSN, and you need them to visit your site so that it appears on search engines. But, there was one robot that used up 55% of my complete webspace! And he was unknown, unlike the Google ones. Webspace costs money so I decide to hunt the fella down (with some help from Kerry).
First I had a look at the last 300 visitors to the site. Around 250 of them were the same robot. Its identity was Agent: gsa-crawler (Enterprise; GIX-01873; *followed by three email address.) - I was getting closer, as I now had their eMail address.
Then Kerry showed me the program known as Webaliser. This gives you even more detailed statistics about who has been using up all my bandwidth. The program highlighted one place as responsible for all the use, Hostname IP address: 217.154.230.114 - You can then type this into your explorer bar and it will take you to p2b.net - a new search engine for Brighton and Hove (read the story here). It also contains a name which is the same as one of those eMail address above - and a phone number. Gotcha!
Kerry suggests that they are leeching my entire site. And not only once. The company is called www.scip.org.uk. Looks like I’ll have to give them a call in the morning. I wont be too angry though as it appears that they’re recruiting! ![]()

An even busier month here on KingOfMyCastle. I had over 1500 unique visitors this time.
Unique visitors: 1651
Hits: 40218
I only posted 12 posts, well I have been busy, but the visitors have still been coming. Typing “Parcel Force Gatwick Depot” into Google brings my site up first, which is strange. I presume Parcel Force themselves would like their site at No. 1
Having fun by replacing the photo of the cat with my horrible image got the most hits with nearly 200 people from The V Forum turning up. This forum has now moved from Delphi and can now be found at www.thevhive.com.
As ever, here’s the fantasy football situation:
Daily Telegraph League: position 2465 (out of 260,000) , thats in the top 1%.
Kevin Isaac’s League: position 1 (out of only 9 this year).
Yahoo Fantasy Football: position 2500 (out of around 100,000), top 2%.
Free Fantasy Football: position 5737 (out of ?? - probably 20,000), top 25%.
Not a brilliant football month but I’m still there or thereabouts.
