The Missing Dollar

Posted on December 27th, 2005 at 8:06 pm

Three men go into a motel. The man behind the desk says the room is $30, so each man pays $10 and they go to their room. Later, the man at the desk realises the room was only $25 and sends the bellboy with $5 change. The bellboy can’t work out how to split $5 between three so gives each man $1 and keeps $2. This means each man has paid $9 (total $27), add the bellboy’s $2 = $29. Where is the missing dollar?

This one really hurts my head. But I know the answer.

The Ricky Gervais Show. Download this podcast (an mp3 over 10 minutes long) for the funniest show on the net. It should only take a couple of minutes to download. Then just double click it. Childish but incredibly funny.

Tacky Boot Fair Painting

Swan Man Woman Naked

I saw this at Bhasvic boot fair today. I remember these kind of paintings were popular during the 80’s and appeared on many young couples walls, well in Margate anyway. There were hundreds of these, but most contained a naked couple walking into a horizon.

I’ve no idea if they were all by the same artist but if you have any idea who painted them then please let me know!

Text Size Adjustment

Posted on December 13th, 2005 at 3:35 pm

If you’re running certain versions Internet Explorer you may never have been able to read my posts because the text was way too small. This has been pointed out by a few people now so I’ve tweaked a few values in my CSS sheet and hopefully the text size should be fine now and you can read this. If you had problems before and its all fine now then please let me know in the comments section below. Thanks!

Oh, and if you’re using Internet Explorer shame on you! You should be using Firefox which is much better than IE. You can download it by clicking on the link at the top right of this web page. This will reduce the amount of malware are browser hijackers that try to attack your PC, and its much easier to use.

V for Vendetta

From AICN: “I was not prepared for V FOR VENDETTA. This is the most intense cinematic cry for Anarchy since A CLOCKWORK ORANGE. They made the comic. Alan Moore is a bitch for even thinking of bitching about this. It is f*cking PERFECT! When you see them promoting it as UNCOMPROMISED VISION. That’s absolutely right. This thing doesn’t give two shakes of a pecker what the modern world is going to think. THEY NAILED IT! You never see V’s face. The voice - PERFECT. Natalie Portman - BRILLIANT. Everybody PERFECT. Adrian Biddle’s last film as DP is a revelation and a revolution! This was my favorite film of the festival. They finally f*cking nailed ALAN MOORE! Wachowski’s - do WATCHMEN! PLEASE! When this film opens - this will be a political molotov cocktail. Absolutely f*cking great! It isn’t the action film that the first MATRIX was - but it is easily a vastly more important and brilliant film. ”

I am so looking forward to this film. Alan Moore’s comic book V For Vendetta is my generations Clockwork Orange (book-wise) so I’m so glad that the movie is being compared to Kubrick’s masterpeice. This is going to be so good!

BBC News 24 also had a shot of East London where the cloud has travelled. What a spectacle. Apparently the sunsets will be amazing tonight.
