Hope you have a good All Hallow’s Eve tonight, don’t get too scared. I’ve already done Halloween on Saturday at Seng and Rob’s amazing Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Horror party so I’ll just stay in and hide tonight.

So the Live 8 DVD is coming out on the 7th of November priced at £35. It’s not my cup of tea but I’m sure it’ll sell boat-loads by Christmas.

Looking at a few sites mentioning the release I see the phrase “A generous royalty from the sales of the Live 8 DVD is set to go to the Band Aid Trust for the relief of hunger and poverty in Africa,” and also, “Live 8 gave the rights to EMI after the music company pledged a hefty donation to the organization.” So I take it that this means EMI and some record shops will profit from this. Nowhere does it say ALL the profits or royalties will go to charity.
Now flash back to June when the tickets were being raffled and Sir Bob (and the rest of the media) had a huge outcry over people selling these tickets on eBay.
BBC: Live 8 organiser Bob Geldof branded the attempted sale of the tickets as “sick profiteering”.. He said people had realised that “the weakest people on our planet” were being exploited and they were “sickened by that”.
I didn’t see the problem of selling tickets on eBay and I dont see the problem of EMI making a profit from selling the DVD but its double standards when Sir Bob condemns one and not the other. Especially when he on the side of the corporation, not the individual.

Its been the warmest October I can remember. Four days to Halloween and we’ve got a heatwave. It must have reached 22C today at some points in Brighton. See for yourself in The Sun.

I wonder where Paul Weller got his single and album cover font from? Where could he have seen a design like that?

I’ve been messing around with BitTorrenting recently and I’m finding it hard to explain to friends how it all works. It does have some complicated terminology involved. So instead I’ll make it simple by saying:
Download uTorrent and run it.
Then visit a site like MiniNova and click what you want to download.
uTorrent should pick it up within a minute of two and it’ll start to download that file.
Downloading will start off extremely slow but will speed up gradually. It may take a day to download larger files. Oh, and downloading most movies, games and music is technically illegal, and you can get fined, so dont do it whatever you do.

This is available here.
The problem is that I can’t solve it. I can add three 4’s and two 5’s to the grid and then I’m stuck. Can anybody direct me to the way I get my next number?
UPDATE: Done it, just missed a number. 1 was the next one I put down.

So winter is almost upon us so I’ve signed up for a three month subscription to Laser Squad Nemesis. I played Laser Squad on the Commodore 64, then played X-Com apocalypse on the Amiga, and this game is by the same creators. Its one of those ’simple to learn - hard to master’ turn-based strategy games. Here’s an example of what it looks like:

Visit the website to download the playable demo. You can play against the computer and also against other players out there who have also subscribed using a type of play-by-email. I think it also allows you to play a few games against me. Check it out if you like that kind of thing.
