New London to Brighton train speed record.

Posted on September 19th, 2005 at 1:04 pm

Well I’m not sure if this is good or bad news for me but last week a train took just 37 minutes to go from London to Brighton.

The Origin of King Of My Castle

Lots of people ask where I got the name for this site and believe it came from the Wamdue Project’s hit of the same name. But no, actually it came from a piece of the Bayeux Tapestry I saw when I was last in France. I’ve just managed to find the exact piece here.

New Guardian Newspaper

I got a copy of the new Guardian today. Its in a smaller format, called the Berliner, which I do prefer and made it much easier to read. The full-colour (on every page) is extremely well done and very sharp. I’m mixed about the new fonts but overall I think this is a huge sucess and I’ll probably end up buying this more often than I have been recently.

Brighton Graffiti

Just below Brighton Station there’s some developments going up. The council decided to allow artists to use the temporary walls as canvasses for young graffiti artists in the city. The results are extraordinary and well worth a visit if you get a moment. I used to live 50 yards from where this development is happening and its good to see the brown field site being used for something other than car lots - although I hope it doesn’t get too built up around there.
