Fantastic Movie Review Site

Posted on August 25th, 2005 at 10:45 am

Just found a great ‘family-focused’ website which reviews the latest movies.

Here’s part of the review of the new movie The 40 Year Old Virgin.

Sexual Content:
Pervasive. Never-ending. Extreme to the point of rendering superlatives meaningless. From the opening scene of Andy getting out of bed in his underwear—with an erection—not a minute goes by in which sex doesn’t dominate.

This is a bad thing apparently. I’ll be going here for my reviews now! But probably not for the reasons they intended.

Fantasy Football Update

Posted on August 24th, 2005 at 12:25 pm

Two weeks into the new season and I’m doing very well in my fantasy football teams.

Daily Telegraph League: position 2864 (out of 260,000) , thats in the top 2%.
Kevin Isaac’s League: position 1 (out of only 9 this year).
Yahoo Fantasy Football: position 1030 (out of around 100,000), top 1%.
Free Fantasy Football: position 214 (out of ?? - probably 20,000), top 1%.

So its really going good this year but to make some cash I’d have to be moving up those leagues pretty sharpish. Next week I’ll take a bit of a hit due to not collecting any points last night but its a marathon, not a sprint. I’ll post updates next month.

More Deep House

Posted on August 18th, 2005 at 1:24 pm

For those of you who do not know what deep house music is (and there must be lots of you as they rarely play it on radio) you can check its wikipedia entry.

And you can download and listen to some chilled deep house here. This features some amazing atmospheric tracks by Charles Webster. And the superb Ananda Project track is by Chris Brann who also records under the name Wamdue Project. They created the song King Of My Castle which is where the title of this website comes from. Unfortunatly you’ll probably only know the euro-mix version that came out, not the beautiful deep original on Strictly Rhythm.

Bottom Friendship

Ade Edmondson talks about his good friend Rik Mayall:

I heard some talk in the media, questioning why Rik was not invited to the Fame Academy performances. Well, why the f*ck would I want that horse’s ass trying to horn in on my spotlight?! He’d try everything in his power to draw attention to himself. He’d probably do f*cking backflips across the stage, while I was performing my song. That is, of course, if he could get is big, fat ass up in the air, which is extremely doubtful. My REAL celebrity friends came to see me, such as Lenny Henry and Harry Enfield. Mayall can go to hell, as far as I’m concerned.

This was found at the extremely hard to navigate Rik Mayall Website.
