Hello and welcome to the official opening party for my blog (definition here). Please have a look around and then leave a comment by clicking the little link below.
I’m hoping to be able to maintain this blog on a daily basis so bookmark this page, add it to your favourites and check back every once in a while. If you have any intersting links, articles, pictures or whatevers then please send them to me at the address to the left and I might put them up here.
Coming soon will be my Grand Poker Experiment where I try to turn £20 into £500 (or, more than likely, £0). I’ll be detailing all the main plays in my games and all the shocking flops right here. Wish me luck!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy what you see and turn up again soon.
John King..

Take a visit to SpiritofHouse.com to check out Louis Vega’s and Quentin Harris’ amazing remixes of Bah Samba’s Calma (featuring Isabel Fructuoso). Its on mix number 307 and is unfortunatly on Real Player - but you can stream or download. The single’s out in a week and it’s already top of many playlists. You can even buy it here.

Naomi Klein’s article in today’s Guardian pretty much sums up the way America likes to do business in the world today.

At the San Diego Comic-Con they had a V for Vendetta panel featuring Natalie Portman, Joel Silver and David Lloyd. V is a movie due on November the 5th based on Alan Moore’s amazing V for Vendetta comic book from the mid 80’s (originally in Warrior Magazine and then from DC comics). Directed by the Wachowski brothers, of Matrix fame, V will probably be very controversial as it involves using terrorism (and therefore, blowing things up) as a sensible way to overthrow your corrupt government.
You should read the comic but if not hopefully the film will do the story some justice. Click here to read the AICN report.

I really want to get hold of the Comic Strip Presents DVD box set. It contains all 39 episodes of the ground-breaking comedy series. Someone buy it and lend it to me ![]()

I’ve just got into these puzzles and they’re becoming addictive. You can get daily print-out Sudoku puzzles from The Guardian and there’s an online java version at Puzzle Japan.
The medium level grids suit me the best but I may move on to the harder ones soon. I still can’t figure out if its cheating to pencil in lots of tiny numbers in each square.
